Don't think 433 or 4231 works tbh, one of RVP or Roonay is forced wide.

442 diamond is probably best setup for what they have.

But Van Gaal is obsessed with his 352 IMO.

it feels the same as before, Florentino perez is an idiot who is once again failing to reward some low profile guys that did good work for him. Last time, we self destructed. This time, he has much more talent and bodies available to make up but it's still a tremendous loss. Di Maria was a top 10 player last season, and we just sold him.

We might still win CL. A midfield of Modric-Alonso/Illarra-Kroos will be solid once we get a proper number 9 to aim crosses at

DiMaria gone will be nothing new as we always sell important players but at least this time we won't get low balled into selling him for dirt cheap like the rest of them

I just hope Carlo has balls to bench Bale for James

As for my other team, we still need a proper CM and a WC CB to get into the top 4. Thank god he didn't join that obscure league called ligue 1 would never hsve watched him then. EPL will be great with him

But do you still trust Alonso/Illarra? Are you comfortable with defensive abilities of Kroos? Feels like without Di Maria you are losing the balance of your team!

Nah, the talent in midfield is not an issue. Thing about Di Maria is how he was alone an accelerator for our offense. It can be replaced with ball movements and faster quicker passing and transitions, but our guys dont combine that well, consistently.

We will see how that midfield does during the season but it survived the Atleti test which is a start. It has slot more structure and discipline than when DiMaria plays there but he usually has the speed to get back. Offensively we will suffer because we don't have anyone that can attack, create and defend like him so we will likely see Ronaldo and Bale having the ball alot more than the last season.

This whole Benz at number nine worked because DiMaria created from the midfield and Ronaldo/Bale scoring made sure that there wasn't questions asked about our number nine (although people still did) but as the Atleti game showed with our fbs and wingers having the ball more we will need a hungrier number 9 and Benzema is not it. We tried James as LCM but that made us defensively weak

I really like that midfield against Sevilla/Atleti but I already know they won't contribute much to our attack so wasn't particularly dissapointed when they weren't. Tactically Kroos, Xabi and Illarra know how to break up play and know exactly where to be when defending so I have n qualms about that just yet

Editor in Chief of Marca says that the deal is done:
-75 millions euros base deal
+5 millions bonus "easy to reach"
+5 millions in bonus "attainable"
+5 millions in bonus more difficult to reach

Total deal worth 90 millions euros, madrid would at least collect 85 mil unless united collapse again.

excellent fee just shows how much we value him. Should have done more to keep him though

The difficult 5mill is for winning the league apparently. With a guy like dimaria you can expect to fight everygame until blood drains out of your bodies
