Honestly he brought it on himself, before he was benched he was being lazy just walking around and a turnover machine. This is probably a lesson that no matter who you are you are not indispensable

I would do that in a heart beat his fault for going after the money rather than big trophies and success. You reap what you sow as they say. Its not over at all. Mata, Herrera, Young, Fellaini all were frozen out for long periods. They have made the comeback and have become key players lately. So as long as Di maria want to be here and continue putting a good shift in in training just like the above players did, he will get his chance.
Next season hopefully he will beast again.

He's played that role everywhere in his career other than under Mourinho which coincidentally was the most inconsistent period of his career up until now.

He was fine at Yanited until he got injured and since then he either hasn't played or played out of position, none of this is surprising and it won't change under Van Gaal as he's getten results and he's stubborn person at the best of times.

and he was bought for 75m for what he did before 2010.

it's about the flank he played imo. he's left footed and his shooting sucks(occassionally can curl in some angle ball and that's all), was force to play as right winger because ronaldo was on another side. still get 10 goals and 20 assists a season thou. but his play always been slightly awkward.
if u single him out and watch, he appear like a box to box player since the very beginning, very similar to wingback

talent get fully utilized again when switch back to left midfield, have to give carlo some credit there for able to fit in both him and ronaldo there. that hybrid of 433/442

Surprised by the amount of truth bombs I was dropping in this thread. The amount of arse licking he was getting after the tail end of last season was ridiculously OTT. It was like the previous 36+ months were instantly erased from the history books or something.
