Serbia

---Ljajic------Tadic-----Markovic( )
--------------Mitrovic------------
I think there's no question about us qualifying, there's a huge wave of talent that's gonna explode in the upcoming years.

That's a really good Serbian team. Is that Chelsea's Ivanovic btw?

Yeah, hopefully he can maintain this level in the upcoming years, I think it's going to be his last big tournament, if not then Basta, Tomovic or someone else will have to step up.

All hail Gaston Romero, the new Veron
Also doubtful Masche will be able to make it with 34 years.

Re: Predict Your Country's lineup for WC2018
Anything can happen by 2018. Players who we think are gonna start may get injured, poor form etc.
However based on current form, I'd say Hart, Wilshere and Sturridge would start in 2018.

Re: Predict Your Country's lineup for WC2018
2018?
------------ Neuer
Lahm - Boateng - Hummels - Großkreutz
Gündogan - Kroos - Schweinsteiger
Müller ------- Götze ------- Reus
Not that much change, a lot of players are still fairly young.
Lahm and Schweinsteiger I assume will be fit enough at age 33, if not my money is on Jung and Kramer to replace them. Kroos is ultimately going to take Özils spot, simply because he makes us sit more deep, thus giving the side tability.
The attacking lineup is probably the part of the team most up for debate.
Schürrle and Reus might play as the #9 as well, I can also see players like Volland, Kruse, or Lasogga establishing themselves by 2018.
Honorary mention also to Badstuber, who will probably be fighting for a starter spot, maybe even play LB, if Löw is still the coach (please don't let that happen!).
In 2022 Schweinsteiger and Lahm will definitely be gone. That will be interesting times.

Well, I'd say Leon Goretzka, Max Meyer, Julian Draxler, Erik Durm, Sidney Sam, Donis Avdijaj, Levin Öztunali and the Benders should also be around the German NT. Depending on their development, one or the other might find a spot, too.

What about Kranevitter? heard good things about him too. I hope Banega is consistent at that time too.

Re: Predict Your Country's lineup for WC2018
Casemiro has always sucked. Did Real really turn him around like that?
Also, who is Lucas Silva?
It's crazy how much talent is coming out of Germany right. Even missing Reus and Gundogan they were great in the WC. I hope Gundogan comes back strong and gets his career going again.

Well, my NT will never make it, so I'll make one for Brazil, since I always support them
That Robert kid from Fluminese is also said to become great. Will be 21-22 in 2018.

lol no, he's started 1 game the entire season and beyond that had some 5 minute cameos for the sake of it when Madrid was already leading by 5 goals. If he ever makes it beyond Getafe level I'll be surprised. As you can see only clueless people include him in their lineups as there is not a single bit of indication he will ever make it to that level.

Re: Predict Your Country's lineup for WC2018
I have followed him for 4 years and watched him and every player in that lineup at least 10 times more than you.Saying that he will be a Getafe level player after watching only a season where he barely played tells just who the clueless (hater) is here.Specially since he played well in those few minutes. And this is a 2018 prediction, not a September 2014 one.Key words being prediction and 2018.
@elitedm, he hasn't always sucked, pls stop.
How do you not know him?He was one of Cruzeiro's best players in the past season, very complete DM and only 21

Re: Predict Your Country's lineup for WC2018
In four years it is so tough because so many things change. The team I would LIKE to see, development pending...
With that said there are a number of players that can still surprise. Robben, RVP and Sneijder all have chances of being in the starting squad only being 34, but I don't think Robben's body will hold up, Sneijder is quickly losing form, and I am tired of seeing RVP ghost in big competitions anyway.
Also Castaignos still has a ton of potential, but we'll see how he develops. Jurgen Locadia and Richairo Zivkovic are also guys that could hold that spot depending on their development. In a pinch Davy Klaassen can also move up there with guys like Maher, Ziyech and Vilhena potentially being strong enough. Alternatively Wijnaldum can move to that CAM role (where he was great against Brazil, I hate how they've moved him back to CM at PSV and the NT though he performs well enough there) with Boetius, Promes and Lens all being available to play the wing.
So many other potential players, but I like that starting 11 a lot if those players advance as they can.
Warner Hahn
Daryl Janmaat - Stefan de Vrij - Joel Veltman - Jetro Willems
Kevin Strootman - Marco van Ginkel
Georginio Wijnaldum - Davy Klaassen - Memphis Depay
Luc Castaignos

I don't watch too many games not involving Botafogo. It's a pretty easy choice between watching an European match or something from the Brasileirao.

some of them would be pretty old by 2018. I don't get to follow Serbian football (though I have deep fascination for them since old Yugoslav days) but don't they have enough young players who would be in 20s as make the starting XI!!!Serbia

The only guys that are going to be past 30 in that line up are Ivanovic and Kolarov, with Kolarov being 32 that's still a good age. As I said someone younger will probably fill in for Ivanovic like Tomovic from Fiorentina.
I also expect a lot of new guys to explode by 2018 because current Serbia U19 squad are European champions and at least some of them are going to make an impact by 2018. I'm personally thinking guys like Milinkovic-Savic, Zivkovic, Rajkovic, Veljkovic, Radonjic, Maksimovic, Lazovic etc..
Also there's still doubt whether Richairo Zivkovic will play for the Dutch or for Serbia, Gudelj already chose to play for Serbia.
And the likes of Sulejmani, Djuricic, Kostic, Kuzmanovic, Krsticic, Fejsa, Pejcinovic will only grow by 2018, they will be decent back ups.
