Nike has lost recently Juve in Italy and now even Manchester United in UK both passed to Adidas. Basically just Inter ,Barcellona , City an PSG are still under Nike if I am not wrong ... Adidas is going to monopolize all

It's an insane deal, United are just unstoppable in the sponsorship field.
The silver lining for Liverpool is that players rarely move directly between our two clubs. I could totally see United bidding for Sterling or Henderson (or other players) if the rivalry didn't exist.

Other clubs will see this deal and take action. Nike & Adidas are going to have to start paying much more to other clubs now. I'd wager that half way through Man U's new 10 year kit deal we'll start seeing this 75m pound figure eclipsed by other kit deals, if not earlier.

Re: Manchester United and Adidas agree on new kit deal
we signed our nike deal 13 years ago...and they are just now passing it.
Madrid only got 6 million more per year on a deal they signed 2 years ago
wouldn't be so sure on that one

Re: Manchester United and Adidas agree on new kit deal
Why would it open the floodgates? It only gets this high if companies compete.
If Adidas and Nike both offer 35m for the next contract, what are the club going to do? Refuse both and go alone?
Utd also get 50 percent of non shirt profits. With Nike it was 15m a year extra so go ahead and add that in lol.
Anyway I've just read utd are thinking of opening up their kits NFL style with a fashion contract alongside Adidas.
That would be insane numbers

Re: Manchester United and Adidas agree on new kit deal
Clubs now know that Adidas and Nike will pay well over the odds for long-term shirt sponsorship deals. Whilst Manchester United is one of the most well-known clubs in the world, I find it hard to believe that the other top clubs in the world are looking at this deal and thinking to themselves that Man U deserves to be earning twice as much from their shirt sponsorship - especially at a time when Spanish and German football is in the ascendancy in Europe and other English teams have outperformed Man U last season so much so that Man U are out of the Champions League.
Will the shirt sponsors compete? I don't see why not. There's just as much money to be made from signing a deal to sponsor Real Madrid shirts. I don't think Adidas and Nike are in a position to lowball anymore. Clubs know that they are willing and able to pay more.

Re: Manchester United and Adidas agree on new kit deal
Clubs knew what Nike was willing to pay utd 10 years ago and clubs to this day have barely been able to match it.
If Nike didn't offer Madrid 32m to beat Adidas 31m last year (!) why would Adidas offer any more?
Madrid etc can't just click their fingers. They don't set the market, Adidas etc do.
They're bigger than football clubs will ever be
