Manchester United and Adidas agree on new kit deal
The Premier League side, imminently to be taken over by Louis van Gaal, have agreed a huge kit sponsorship guaranteeing them at least £750 million, starting in 2015
Manchester United and Adidas have agreed a 10-year sponsorship deal worth upwards of £750 million, the Premier League club have confirmed.
As exclusively revealed by Goal, the German sports manufacturer emerged as frontrunner to replace former sponsors Nike in April and has now clinched a world-record deal.
A statement read: "Manchester United plc (NYSE:MANU) has reached a 10-year agreement with adidas for a global technical sponsorship and dual branded licensing deal for a minimum guarantee of £750m, subject to certain adjustments, beginning with the 2015-2016 campaign.

Man Utd is the club equivalent to David Beckham.
Mediocre football player yet made most money of all through commercial deals.
Difference of course is that Beckham is good looking and likeable.

Before people start to lose the plot re MUFC new deal looks like it includes a lot that most other teams don't give away which bumps figs up.
This deal is unusual as MUFC have give again all away for big guarantee. Clubs like AFC run own licensing, stores, online, overseas etc

Looks like Adidas are not taking over licensing from 2015 MUFC will do it themselves so they will get financial uplift on that from 2015

Re: Manchester United and Adidas agree on new kit deal
Wouldn't every club give away every guarentee if it meant 750 a year?
Lol people can't get around how huge United are. Biggest club in the most watched league in the world.
Adidas are signing one direction, Muhammad Ali, Michael jordon, Pierre van Hooijdonk.
An icon of the sporting world..

The only club in all of sport that could survive an 800m debt takeover and still thrive

Re: Manchester United and Adidas agree on new kit deal
Not surprised at all. United are are probably a top 3 biggest club out there. Their marketing strategy since the 70s have been a level above anyone else. Half the PL clubs are still nowhere near them in terms of financial planning even after 50 years.
