Who will advance to the quarter-finals?
Re: Last 16: Brazil (1A) vs Chile (2B) 28.06.14 18:00 CET
They will get trashed by Fernandinho and T. Silva headers from set pieces. Then Neymar will seal the affair on a counterattack when Chile chase the game.

The last 3 times Chile have made the WC (98, 2010, 2014), they've gotten Brazil in R16

I'm scared. Really scared. But history is on our side and I can't see Chile defeating Brazil on Brazil.

Felipao made 2 changes today, Paulinho out for Fernandinho and Alves out for Maicon, Alves only went to the reserves after half time, so it's not a sure change. But Ferandinho will start for sure

Dante is better than Luiz according to the entire World we'll be alright.
Hope this is another Nerman-esque scare rather than anything serious.

The way Isla and Mena play, I am quite surprised they wont be going with a back 3 and taking Valdivia out and letting Vidal loose on Gustavo.

They never usually use a proper 9 tbf, Sanchez is the closest thing they use to a 9 and he spends more time on the wings or dropping deep looking for Vargas runs.

Cesar
Alves-Silva-Dante-Marcelo
Fernandinho-Gustavo
Hulk-Oscar-Neymar
Fred
Alves-Silva-Dante-Marcelo
Fernandinho-Gustavo
Hulk-Oscar-Neymar
Fred
So this is the most likely line up?

Swap Oscar and Neymar. Seems like they are wanting Neymar in the middle because of the havoc he is causing.

Re: Last 16: Brazil (1A) vs Chile (2B) 28.06.14 18:00 CET
Chile look better than four years back especially defensively but I can't see them get past Brazil on Brazilian soil. Besides if a jinx has to work the match should have been at the Maracana which it is not.
Re: Last 16: Brazil (1A) vs Chile (2B) 28.06.14 18:00 CET
That's their probable lineup according to their main news sources, Sampaoli could still make changes, but every Chilean report from the past days are saying that the 4 man defense is a lock. The Franchise wrote:The way Isla and Mena play, I am quite surprised they wont be going with a back 3 and taking Valdivia out and letting Vidal loose on Gustavo.
I personally think that's a terrible idea, midfield is too attacking minded which means Neymar will have a lot of space.
Our defense is going to have a horrid time though, expect a very tough game even if we win by a good margin.

So this is the most likely line up?
Maicon might start, and as Dani said, Neymar on the center with Oscar and Hulk changing position on the flanks.
Luiz is not completely ruled out btw.he has some back pain which could get better

I am really pleased about that. At least with this referee I don't expect any side to get favours. Of course he is human and can make mistakes but he will try his best to give the right decisions. The best thing about him is probably that he is so reluctant to show a red card keeping the game more of a spectacle.
Re: Last 16: Brazil (1A) vs Chile (2B) 28.06.14 18:00 CET
official: César, Daniel Alves, Thiago Silva, David Luiz e Marcelo; Luiz Gustavo, Fernandinho, Oscar; Hulk, Fred e Neymar.

Brazil to win now that they've dropped Paulinho. Belgium have already showed that you improve dramatically the more spuds players you take off the pitch.

Howard Webb will benefit Brazil IMO. They will try to bully the Chilean team.
