First of all I want to say that I have accepted we won't win this WC.Our team is full of scrubs who depend on Neymar to do everything.I also want to say *bleep* off to everyone who said FIFA want us to win the damn thing. I'm happy but I don't even feel like celebrating because I know we are going out soon.

Agree, as someone said "they were unimpressive"
No way they will win this, they'll fail in quarter against Colombia(+)/Uruguay(-) or in semi against France(~)/Germany(~)

who the hell is marquinhossportsczy wrote:This is where Scolari only playing his regular XI most games is going to hurt.... the quarter final is in 6 days and there is no Gustavo. You're not going to fully recover from a game like this in that amount of time. Also, you're looking at Ramires-Marquinhos or Paulinho-Marquinhos. None of these guys are anywhere near as good defensively as Gustavo.
Fred will be rested though

Aranguiz penalty doe >>>>>>
About them being unlucky, they were but so would of Brazil if they went out as they created just as many if not more chances at 1-1 as Chile did.
That's not the point though, Chile are going out and Greece might go through
Oh and i don't care what anyone says, Howard Webb shit, bottle job of a ref and he should never get these games.
But anyway fantastic game and i wish both went through in an ideal world but sadly not to be.
That's what I also wanted to say. Yes Chile dominated the second half in midfield very creditably but how many chances did they create? How many times did they take shots? How many were on target? Even when the better team they seemed to be playing more in fear of Brazil's counter attacks.
If Howard Webb isn't a good referee then I don't know if there is even one good referee around today.

I dont think so. It doesnt work that way either. Brazil may have faltered today. But that means shite in a tournament like this.
Discounting Bra based on today's performance might not be a good idea for other teams.
The most important part is that getting over the line part from the K.O stages onwards and I can see that quality even in this supposedly weak Brazilian team.

It's obvious that if we continue to play like this we won't go anywhere. But if you think the WC is predictable and always goes according to plan then this must be your first WC.

Meh. I don't think Brazil are so screwed. Chile just pressed incredibly well, but Brazil are unlikely to find another team that will play like that in the cup. Chile are arguably the most intense team.

hats off to Chile! that clueless Brazil. that clueless
midfield.
Poor alexis. but if one thing is clear Brazil will win
*bleep* all in this tournament. take neymar off and
they're finished. this just goes to show you how
immense neymar is as a player, that the day he
actually has an off game Brazil simply looked
better than only crystal palace. BTW is it just me or
did hulk refuse to pass the ball to both neymar and
Oscar most of the time? six things are clear now,
Brazil has no midfield, Joe and Fred has no
business putting on the Brazilian jersey, Julio Cesar
is a freak, home support can be a disadvantage,
scolari stubborn head will put him in trouble, and
NEYMAR is Brazil!!!!
Neymar's chance to go into hall of fame by
winning the tournament with this shit Brazilian team
making it more of a Goat achievement.

Re: Last 16: Brazil (1A) vs Chile (2B) 28.06.14 18:00 CET
Brazil's biggest worries are their dependency on Neymar, poor strikers and suspensions. Neymar got tired in the 2nd half and Brazil did very little, I don't know if that's going to change in the next round. Fred did absolutely nothing and neither did Jo. Gustavo is suspended.
Brazil are a good team, but never have been this dependent on grit & steel.

Colombia is at the same level as Chile imo.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Meh. I don't think Brazil are so screwed. Chile just pressed incredibly well, but Brazil are unlikely to find another team that will play like that in the cup. Chile are arguably the most intense team.
If I had the chance to chose between facing a SA team and Germany next round I would take Germany.SA teams always give us hell because they are always at that next level of intensity compared to europeans, next game I expect the same amount of drama as we have seen today.

They wont have to play a team this good until the final if all goes to plan.
Columbia says hello.
This Colombian fairytale is about to end within an hour.
A team gets a horrible Telenovela about them put on tv, beat up on a crap group, and people think they are Brazil 1962.
It ends today.

hans I will tell you one easy formula to win against them, keep fouling, keep knocking Dey Neymar, make him frustrated and Brazil wont do shit when he is covered and the rest team is sensibly defending

What? How does that disprove anything ive said? Based on their performances in all of their games, they look very unimpressive against sides that shouldn't cause them trouble if they are the mighty Brazil, who are favorites to win the WC. They still haven't shown me any reason to put them up as favorites. Can you disprove that?

Almost the entire stadium was yellow for Brazil with just a little chunk red for Chile. How did that happen?! There's thousands of Chileans in Brazil right now....and that was the best way the tickets were allocated to the fans? Seems like at least a larger section would of ended up for Chile but instead it was just a tiny little section for Chile's supporters. Maybe I'm making too much out of it and it was just a coincidence; or maybe I just didn't see the other side of the stadium so excuse me if I'm wrong on this one. But that, on top of the times they've let Brazil have an accepella national anthem seems as an unfair advantage to the home team that shouldn't exist. Just let everything be even.

Its a shame... Itsa a shame
two gerat teams met so early...Its a real shame ...we cant watch the entertaining football of Chile any more while we have to watch the super boring Greece.....
Even being a argentine fan, i must give credit to both teams and i must say Brazil was as dangerous as Chile. everything Chile did , brazil did as well. Both had standout performer of their own with Neymar and Alexis but Alexis's influence was throughout 90 mins whereas Neymar suprisingly disappeared in second half. He was extremely dangerous in first half though. i am really sad i cant see Alexis again in this tournament.

No you are absolutely right.... There was a small portion of Chile fans. It was so small that even i was completely surprised.....That is another reason i really appreciate Chile's effort. They played in with pretty much non existent support.
