Hitting that crossbar...man. Game of inches huh? The drama... Too bad for Chile, I thought they were really good. Brazil were once again very unimpressive.

This is where Scolari only playing his regular XI most games is going to hurt.... the quarter final is in 6 days and there is no Gustavo. You're not going to fully recover from a game like this in that amount of time. Also, you're looking at Ramires-Marquinhos or Paulinho-Marquinhos. None of these guys are anywhere near as good defensively as Gustavo.
Fred will be rested though

Chile is top 5 team in the world. Saying they win anything because they barely got past one of the favorites is pulling the trigger too quick.
They wont have to play a team this good until the final if all goes to plan.

if this same Brazil is going to come in every game from now on, I am not convinced that they will come even in final...mostly will be kicked out in semi final

Well Oscar is not being played in the center which makes it difficult to judge him and with the current Neymar wave who is to say Kaka wouldn't have been pushed to the wing.

rg, I was backing Chile right through. Exciting team. One feels for the underdog. Played well today. However one truth must be recognized. Chile were extremely negative in extra time while Brazil at least sought the winning goal. In general it's better that the team that takes the match to the shoot out should lose out there.

Hopefully this shuts the conspiracy theorists up.

In WC 2010 Chile were beaten 3-0 by Brazil. This time they came so close to knocking them out. So has Chile improved a lot in four years? Was Dunga's 2010 team better than this Brazil team? Bit of both?
Re: Last 16: Brazil (1A) vs Chile (2B) 28.06.14 18:00 CET
Watching Jo playing for Brasil gives me cancer.
By the way:
By the way:
Against #CHI (in the 90 mins), #BRA posted their lowest passing accuracy in any World Cup game from 1966 onwards (69.5%). #WorldCup2014

Football won. Too shameful the grouping for this wc came out like this. Chile
Sanchez
Player of the Match by a mile.
that rocket onto the crossbar from Pinilla
it was Brazil's game from there onwards. and Cesar
He wont ever fail in shootouts. will he
Brazil should be given huge huge credit for pulling this off btw. Ohhhh that pressure
this win will make them tougher mentally and hopefully now they can go through until the final.

This Colombian fairytale is about to end within an hour.
A team gets a horrible Telenovela about them put on tv, beat up on a crap group, and people think they are Brazil 1962.
It ends today.

+1. This is what I'm hoping, that this experience toughens them mentally

Re: Last 16: Brazil (1A) vs Chile (2B) 28.06.14 18:00 CET
Feel so sorry for Chile, they have been tremendous value and unfortunately there's going to be at least one team in the quarters who will be worse than them.
Aranguiz penalty doe >>>>>>
About them being unlucky, they were but so would of Brazil if they went out as they created just as many if not more chances at 1-1 as Chile did.
That's not the point though, Chile are going out and Greece might go through
Oh and i don't care what anyone says, Howard Webb shit, bottle job of a ref and he should never get these games.
But anyway fantastic game and i wish both went through in an ideal world but sadly not to be.

At least we can confirm that Brazil wont win this world cup. They have shown us again how they just arent good enough to win against the likes of Netherlands and Germany.
