Hererra is a good player but he needs passers around him, these spanish flair player can't co exist with kick and run footballers. Unless United start playing really good counter attacking football I don't think it will be worth getting Hererra for as much as he'd cost

If Kroos is able to perform like he did against Portugal, I dont see why he cant be a successful player for Barca. I think he himself is trying to develop his play and I think he will be able to perform in that position in a 3 man midfield very well

Kroos is too slow for Barca imo. Xavi is/was better in tight spaces. Kroos is at his best when he's playing AM and dropping deep.

The fact of the matter is that every midfield can use Kroos, as he is quite simply a fantastic central midfielder.
I don't get this strange obsession with deciding whether a player fits a team based on how SIMILAR he is to an old player from that team.

Its not an obsession..... for how Barca play ( or any side that dominates the ball) they need a top class tempo controller and buying Kroos for that is a huge misuse of his talents IMO.

but 'how they play' is an effect of what players they had, not the other way round.
There won't be another Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta, which were the players that brought 'how they play' into living.
Obviously I do not mean they should change their whole approach etc, but if you exclude a player like Kroos from your deliberations just he isn't exactly like xy that is a bit too narrow I'd say.

About the misuse, yes, that might be true.
