Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.IV
Pace , athleticism, work ethic .... the fact is you are really struggling to find any aspects in which Lallana is better at than Rakitic. Rakitic defends just fine and could even play deep lying play maker role (the gerrard role ) if necessary. He can play multiple positions and he will fit pool just fine.
Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.IV
Lallana and Rakitic are different types of players. Lallana is a better dribbler and more pacey, while Rakitic is more creative. Either would have been a good option for Liverpool.

@Adit
First of all you pleb, I'm agreeing with you that Rakitic is a better footballer. But Lallana is a better fit for us.
None of the characteristics Rakitic really has that I listed. When playing Gerrard at DM we really need Hendo and the other CM to have all those characteristics or it just wouldn't work too well.

We enquired about Rakitic but was told he doesn't want to leave LA liga. So not sure how he would have come definitely
Also we have Lallana and Rakitic are totally diff players. Being PL proven always gives 5mil additional value.Look what happened with Soldado and Lamela

Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.IV
Borussia Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc has admitted that striker Julian Schieber could be set for an exit this summer, with a host of British clubs reported to be interested in him.
The 25-year-old, who joined from Stuttgart in 2012, is yet to truly establish himself at the Westfaledstadion and West Ham, Wigan and Celtic have been among those linked with a move.
Fellow Bundesliga outfit 1899 Hoffenheim have also been reported to be tracking the former Germany Under-21 international, who failed to score in his 12 league appearances last season.
Schieber has another two years remaining on his current contract with Dortmund, but Zorc says that they would be prepared to sell if the striker is looking to leave.
"We have been talking to Julian Schieber and his agent in the last week," he told kicker-Sportmagazin.
"He had been out to have his Borussia Dortmund breakthrough within his first two years at the club.
"If he is out for a transfer after these first two years at our club, we would certainly be considering that. Of course."

If Barca are really IN for Rakiktic,as various sources prove, it will be a complete waste of time to even follow him. We better move the ranks of Lallana, Shaqiri and .... .... Firmino ( )

Shove off Van Gaal, he is the best midfielder in Serie A, so if you want him you better be bringing PSG money.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.IV
Ajax midfielder Siem de Jong claims Newcastle United have held informal talks with his agent regarding his availability.
The Dutchman has long been linked with a switch to St James' Park, and 2014 could be the year in which a move is made.
De Jong is, however, eager to point out that no official approach has been made and that he is yet to make a decision on his future.
He saw his brother Luuk spend the second half of the 2013/14 campaign on loan at Newcastle and is reluctant to rush into anything at this stage of the summer.
De Jong told Holland's Soccer News: "I really do not know what I'll do next season. I have spoken with the club but nothing is sorted.
"Also with Newcastle United, where my brother played last time, they have had a little contact with my agent.
"There was contact before, but it's nothing concrete.
"Newcastle is a great club."
Were De Jong to make a move to England, it appears unlikely that he will be joined by Luuk, with Newcastle having passed on the option of making his loan deal permanent after seeing him fail to find the target in 12 appearances.
Siem de Jong added: "I do not know if he'll be there. He is employed by (Borussia) Monchengladbach and has not received a contract offer from Newcastle.
"I'm going next week to talk to Ajax, then I'll see."
