Yaya Toure's good, but he isn't that good. Selling him might not be such a bad idea. It means they can get a proper DM and a proper CM. Plus he's getting old as well. Wouldn't be surprised if some rich club offered excessive money for him.

Yaya was sold because he could get over double his wages and guaranteed starter. Don't get it twisted dude.
While this is true, but IIRC it's also true that his agent was really hated by almost everyone at Barça..

Re: Yaya Toure could leave Manchester City this summer
Suggesting that CIty should sell Yaya is one of the most ridiculous thing you have ever posted MT, come on.
You guys can hate on Yaya all you want, but there isnt a more potent attacking CM out there. FRom the range and precision of his passes, his shot, leadershi, technique, power runs etc... he is a incredible player, and still performs well.
If he is not a good defender, so what? his job isnt to serve GL fantasies about him being a complete player. If his manager is stupid enough not to realize that he should play Yaya with people that allow him to make the minimum amount of defensive work, that's his problem, not Yaya's.

Actually, he is great at defending, he proved that at Barça. The problem here is that he just doesn't have the stamina to do both defending and attacking at the same time. He can do either, but not both at the same time..

He's going nowhere.
The sense of entitlement these guys have...They need to do their jobs and stfu tbh. Expecting happy birthday from Billionaires that pay him £250,000 a week (£137000 post tax) is just a joke. I don't think he realises that he is a level below these guys.
100% agreed.
Mr. Perennial Contradictory Pleb Yaya seems not to understand he is essentially an employee of Manchester City as this unprofessional behaviour could get his contract terminated if worked in a field to which not involve just kicking a ball.
Entitlement is the word to describe modern players who hide behind the trousers of their agents and media platforms.
No surprise if Yaya if true as Yaya always lacked any class or a brain for that matter.

TBF while Yaya is a prick he has earned the right to whine about any slights he may or may not feel from the club in regards to his birthday.
If you asked me last summer if City could have won the double. with Aguero missing like...19? 20? Matches. Yaya beasted.

If he feels he has to whine and complain about disrespect from the club, he could do that without threatening to ask for a transfer. Indicating a desire to leave in 99% of cases really means "I want more money".
Yet Yaya and his agent don't seem to realise he is already contracted for three more years, until he is 34. If I were Man City I would be totally comfortable with the current contractual situation.

Mercenary **** being a mercernary ****. Nothing to see here.
The fact that he used a birthday excuse, then subsequent tweets shows 2 things
1) He's a dumbass
2) Has no respect for the bitters, considering he's their best paid player.
There's other ways in wanting to quit a club. dumb fck

Re: Yaya Toure could leave Manchester City this summer
This forum is really going full retard on this one. How is Yaya a mercenary or at all dislikeable?
He is a model professional, has been a great player where ever he has played, he left Barca on very good terms and his whole team at City seem to like him a lot, in fact you rarely hear a bad word about the guy except for morons on this site.
And LOL, then there is one guy on the site saying that he is showing signs of getting old and City should sell him. How on earth has this season shown anything other than a guy in his prime. Some of the things you hear on here is just outrageous. There is basically 3 pages of people bashing Yaya for something his agent said and then he replied very politely saying this needs to be addressed and he will address it.
IF you held players accountable for what there agents say then everyone would be perceived as a goon.
HE has handled basically everything in his career with class so I really don't know where any of this hate is coming from. Weird.

Re: Yaya Toure could leave Manchester City this summer
"He is a very professional player and he will work hard for any club he plays for. Every club he has been at he has been one of the best players, if not the best," the agent told talkSPORT.
"It's difficult to say now [where his future lies]; maybe after the World Cup we'll know more about his emotions and the situation.
"But what I do know is that the staff at Barcelona, the players and the fans all like Yaya very much. Barca is one of his former clubs, he had a great time there and it's like another home for him.
"It's obviously the same at Manchester City. The fans love him very much, they understand Yaya is a great player.
"If people don't give us attention we will forget about them and work with other people."
Seluk has claimed that Toure wants to leave City at the end of each of the past two seasons and again believes that it is uncertain whether the midfielder will remain with the Premier League champions this summer.
"Honestly, it's not 100 per cent he will stay at Manchester City, it's better to say 50-50,” he remarked.
"I tell you this is not about cake, more importantly it is about attention. Yaya can buy cake for everybody and it's no problem from him.
"When Yaya is on the pitch he works very hard for the entire 90 minutes. He takes the ball from his own half and runs the entire length of the field and scores beautiful goals. There aren't too many players who can do this.
"He has motivation to play well for City, he fights for City, but he feels he fights for the team and the club forget about him. It's very upsetting for him."
I hope this is true. Yaya pls

Re: Yaya Toure could leave Manchester City this summer
No one said Toure's showing signs of declining. It's just he's getting older so there's the possibility he might, especially the way he plays. He is one of City's best players, but cashing in on him while he's hot might not be such a bad idea. Plus there's the FFP thing going on, so it could help with that.
In the CAM role I think Silva's way more influential when City have the ball. He just dominates games. Plus from what I've seen over the past few years of Man City, I think they've lacked a top quality playmaker in the side. Someone who can dictate things and I don't think Toure is that type of player, despite him being a good passer. If Silva did play CAM, that would mean Toure would be playing CM, however Toure needs a pure DM next to him. It's a bit like Rooney at Man Utd. He's a big player for them, but selling him would allow a proper CAM like Mata or Kagawa to play behind van Persie. Just a different way of playing.

Man City selling Yaya Toure would basically be the single dumbest thing they could do. The only way it would make any sense is if the strategy was to see what's the absolute quickest way they could destroy there team with one transfer.
All in one player they have a guy who can play pretty much every position on the field, is the best central mid in the EPL and arguably in the world, is a top 2 player in the EPL, is one of the best free kick and PK takers in the world, he is a model citizen you never have to worry about getting in trouble, oh and he fit's into Pellegrini's system like a glove.
Your strategy would be to cash in on that when they are a club who has more money than they know what to do with. The one thing Man City absolutely doesn't need is money but you think they should think about trading all that for cash.
How can you still waste anymore time or energy defending this insanity, it makes no sense what so ever.

Re: Yaya Toure could leave Manchester City this summer
Yaya Toure's agent has rejected claims that recent comments about the Manchester City midfielder were made to engineer an improved deal or a move.
On Tuesday Dimitri Seluk said Toure may leave City because they showed him a lack of respect on his 31st birthday.
But Seluk told BBC Sport: "People think we did this because we want to change the contract, to make more money.
"About money, the contract is OK. For us the most important is attention from the club to whom Yaya gives a lot."
Toure, who joined City from Barcelona in 2010, was linked with a return to the Catalan giants when Seluk made his initial comments on Tuesday.
He said the Ivory Coast international claimed he was ignored by the club's owners when the squad arrived in the United Arab Emirates to celebrate their Premier League title triumph and was "very upset".
The midfielder has said he could be playing for another club next season and added he would resolve his future after the World Cup in Brazil. Ivory Coast are in Group C alongside Colombia, Greece and Japan.
