Čech or Courtois?

So, who is the other of the best 3 keepers according to Mou? I suppose two of them are Courtois and Cech!

No disrespect towards Petr from me. He's actually the only one at your club that I really really like. Great guy.

They are both great but Cech is better, no doubt, for me.

IMO what Courtois has showed with Atletico and this season proved that he's as good as Cech. Not undoubtedly better or worse, pretty much on the same level. That's not a dig at Cech, that's just how good they both are.

They're in my top 3 GKs with Neuer.

Courtois is overhyped. Cech is a better GK. Courtois is suspect at long shots. Cech was on his way to becoming the best GK I had ever seen before that head injury. Shame. Still one of the best GKs in the world. The only GK I would take over Cech in all honesty is probably Neuer.

The only longshots Courtois has conceded were Emre Can's and Harry Kane and he wasn't at fault in neither because Can's shot took an obvious deflection and Harry Kane's shot got boosted by wind/positive karma for something Harry Kane did in a previous life.

the main thing Courtois has going for him is his age.

Courtois is amazing, no doubt, but he's got a long way to go to be consistently as good as Cech

It has to be said that Cech played against Maribor, lower division teams in FA Cup and CoC. A more apt comparison would be this season's Thibaut v last season's Cech

0 Errors by our GKs all season

I know both keepers want to be on the pitch, yet it is a long season and injuries occur when you least expect it so I would ask that Roman Arkedyevich Abramovich do everything to keep Petr Cech where he belongs and that is at The Bridge, no where else, we are not a selling club.

As much as I would love for Cech to stay, I think he'll want to leave so he plays every week.

If a player wants to leave, I think we will let them, we did so with KDB, Lukaku and so on. Sure they don't have the same status as Cech, but I think the same principal will apply.

I found the fact that Courtois said he was tired recently and as a result Jose gave Cech the start against Everton. He produced admirably, seeing that keepers can and do play well into the late 30's and early 40's, I think it would be correct for Cech to get his money and maintain his prestige by staying with the Blues and extending his career here. He is one man that I don't think that we need to sell.

Like I said though, it is down to Cech. If he is happy with that role. We will not sell, as you said, we have no need.

However, if Cech is not happy with playing ~10 games a season, we should sell him while we can get top dollar instead of keeping him against his will.

If I had to choose between these two I would have always chosen Cech over Courtois. I really appreciate that Courtois is a great keeper and maybe he will turn out to be amongst the GOAT keepers like Buffon, Kahn, VDS or Casillas (it may sound funny now that he was once a great keeper). But Cech still is a great keeper and has at least 4/5 seasons of good football left in him. We can easily go with him, sell Courtois to Real for unreal money, buy a backup keeper and a world class CM.
