Re: Dani Alves dealing with racism
Well guess it's my mistake then, I just don't consider Alves black in any way. And it if it wasn't because of his facial features, why was it only him it was being thrown at? (could be others didn't watch the game). I would assume that racist wouldn't treat some mixed different than others.

Re: Dani Alves dealing with racism
I dislike when people say this is how players "should" deal with racism. No, its not how they should.
Credit to those like Dani Alves who can do it, who can rise above it...but not everyone has that capability.
Telling people how they should react and therefore how they should feel, is wrong imo.
Players should not have to be subjected to it and I feel like, if the reaction is they dont want to play (like Boateng), they dont have to and should not be judged for that.

People, could you please resize the pictures a little, or create a thumbnail to link to it, or use a spoiler tag for huge pics? That would be highly appreciated.

Re: Dani Alves dealing with racism
Fifa president Sepp Blatter has branded the racial abuse aimed at Barcelona defender Dani Alves during Sunday's win at Villarreal "outrageous".
The Brazilian had a banana thrown at him from the stands at El Madrigal, but responded with good humour by picking up the fruit and eating it.
He laughed off the incident in the wake of the game but the Swiss official feels he should not have had to tolerate it.
"What Alves tolerated [on Sunday] is an outratge," he wrote on Twitter.
"We must fight all forms of discrimination united. There will be zero tolerance at the World Cup."

Re: Dani Alves dealing with racism
Barcelona defender Dani Alves says the racist abuse he received at Villarreal should be unacceptable in modern Spain.
The Brazilian had a banana thrown at him by a spectator during the 3-2 win for his side but responded by eating it.
He insisted after the match that he had become used to such abuse, but has now called on Spain to stamp out the problem once and for all.
"There is a lot of racism [in Spain] towards foreigners," he told Radio Globo.
"We can´t accept this kind of thing, especially in First World countries [like Spain]. Fifa should pay attention to such things."
Several footballers posted pictures of themselves on Twitter eating bananas as a message of support and Alves said he was overwhelmed by the incident.
"It was incredible," added Alves. "An action by someone who didn't consider the consequences. The world is evolving and we must evolve with it."
