Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Reports in L’Equipe today suggest that Real Madrid Assistant Coach Zinedine Zidane could be set to take over at Monaco.
The Ligue 1 big spenders are currently second in France’s top flight but it is rumoured that numerous players are unhappy with current Coach Claudio Ranieri’s methods.
Should the Italian be sacked, Russian billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovev is said to be likely to turn to the former French international.
It is hoped that Zidane’s exploits as a player would enable him to handle the egos of the club’s star players.

According to SSNHD, Bayern are a bit astonished as they didn't have any contact to ManUtd yet and as Toni Kroos still has a contract till 2015, ManUtd would not be allowed to contact the player.
Well, we know that tapping up, although forbidden, goes on more as a rule than an exception. Would Bayern match those wages? I can't imagine so. Therefore United should have a good chance of signing the player. If The Guardian are right with their information. On one hand I'd be disappointed to see United sign Kroos, on the other hand knowing that they'd spend effectively two players' wages on him, that would offer some comfort.
Of course not
I think this is a bullshit story, this Jamie Jackson guy is beginning to get on my nerves, after Guardiola dressed him down he's abit hyped it seems.
If Kroos thinks he doesn't get enough money at Bayern however, he's free to leave - 2015.

Ah that's the guy Guardiola had a skirmish with?
anyway, Bayern are great at doing what they want with their players, if they dont want to sell, they wont. But letting a player walk when you couls have gotten 50 mil euros for him is tough.

you sure somebody's going to pay 50m Euro for him, with one year left?
In that case, he can leave instantly if he wants to
I think most of these number and stories are thin air.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
40 millions pounds is about that in euros no? well, Man Utd cant leverage Bayern into selling Kroos because he has a year left, so best they can do is offer a big amount as if he had 3 o 4 years left. Might be less than what i said, i assume it would be at least above 35 millions euros. United look desperate anyway, they are gonna turn into Real madrid paying big money for players because they are scared to fall into mediocrity

I think our general stance with regards to Kroos has been: we want to extend with him, if he doesn't extend we want him to stay till the end of his contract.
Both Rummenigge, Sammer have said that publicly, Kroos' agent said the same couple of weeks ago.
And this is not just posturing, we don't need the money.
That said however, if he is keen on leaving, and that much money is offered, I'm sure they'll think about it.
But I think a lot of what's written is pure speculation.
First of all, it's all English papers, and they had Kroos already close to leaving in winter, fallen out with Pep etc, which was all complete nonsense of course
Second, if Utd want Kroos in the summer, they need to come to an agreement with us, and the worst way to go about it is tapping up the player behind our back...
Third, and most important: Who knows what the situation at Utd will actually be in summer?
I for one refuse to believe Moyes will still be around for the summer window.
I think there will be turmoil, plus they don't play CL, so all this could make staying another year and leave on a free much more attractive for Kroos.
Other clubs will be in for him as well then, maybe for example a very attractive club that might not be able to do business this summer..
It's been said that Kroos has his mind set on playing for Utd, for some childhood dream reason, but who knows - that might just as well be propaganda -there's a lot of propaganda out of Manchester these days, '200m warchest' etc pp
In short, too much unknown.
Who knows, for example, if he actually wants to leave? He sure never said anything like that, although he's an arrogant guy and might want to be his own star somewhere else.
I still think, and hope, he extends anyway.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Paris Saint-Germain defender Alex has confirmed that he is close to signing a new one-year contract extension with the club.
Alex joined the French side from Chelsea in 2012 and, since then, he has made over 63 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit, helping them to become league champions in 2013.
“I am very happy at Paris and we’re almost certain to renew my contract,” the defender said in an interview with GloboEsporte. “I believe that in a week or two we will sign an agreement for another year.”

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Javi Garcia’s agent insists “Inter is not a possible option,” but some English clubs have contacted Manchester City.
The 27-year-old has been tipped as one of the summer transfer targets for the Nerazzurri, so calciomercato.com interviewed representative Manuel Garcia Quillon.
“There is absolutely no contact. Nobody called me, so Inter is not a possible option. So far only some English clubs have made their interest concrete.
“In any case, it’s not an issue we have to consider, because he still has three years left on his contract with City and intends to honour it.
“Would he go out on loan? Absolutely not. He will remain at City, without a shadow of doubt.”

makes me laugh in retrospect, City getting into financial fairplay troubles because they paid 30 mil for the likes of jovetic who never plays, or 20+ mil for Javi Garcia who is a bonafide scrub

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Vertoghen exchange for that scrub Behrami is highly implausible considering the value and age between them. Though given Levy's idiocy I wouldn't be surprised.
Gonalons is more tricky. On one hand he is Lyon's captain and has been fantastic this season; on the other Aulas did play hardball with his equally tough counterpart in Di Laurentiis, despite Maxime's push to move to Napoli. Will cost them a great deal but Gonalons is worth it.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Paolo Maldini has urged AC Milan to focus their investment on the club's youth system rather than the recruitment of high-profile players.
The Rossoneri have been cut adrift from the leading pack in Serie A and only returned to the top half of the league table last weekend following their win over Catania.
A summer of grand investment is expected under new coach Clarence Seedorf, but Milan great Maldini - himself the most famous product of the club's youth system - believes youth is the key to long-term success at San Siro.
He said: "To give a true philosophy to youth you need a plan at least every five years. It takes patience.
"You cannot only invest in the first team. You have to have equal investment in the first team and youth team to have long term success.
"Different ideas have come in from abroad in terms of spending lots of money which has created a difference in quality, Milan have been left behind a bit."

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a move for Barcelona midfielder Alex Song.
The 26-year-old moved to Spain from Arsenal in 2012, but has largely struggled to hold down a regular first-team spot at the Camp Nou.
The midfielder has appeared in 28 matches for Barca this season, but has been overlooked for Champions League and top-of-the-table clashes in La Liga.
According to Goal.com, United are prepared to pay in the region of £12.5m to land the Cameroon international this summer.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
French Ligue 1 newcomers, AS Monaco are planning to raid Atletico Madrid again this summer, after swooping in and landing Radamel Falcao last summer, they are now eyeing manager Diego Simone to take over for Claudio Ranieri and Diego Costa to take over for Radamel Falcao, while also adding Real Madrid’s legendary goalkeeper, Iker Casillas.
According to reputable French magazine, France Football, AS Monaco owner Dimitri Rybolovlev is determined to land Diego Simeone, as the Argentine’s hard-nosed nature and style of management is what the Russian feels will be vital to give Monaco a deep Champions League run next season.
For his part, due to the tax laws in Monaco, Simeone would see his current 2 million euro salary tripled and would have far greater buying power than he currently does at Atleti.
The magazine goes on to suggest that if the club chose to sell striker Radamel Falcao, they could bring Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid to join Simeone, for a price of 38 million euros.
The report concludes by discussing the future of Real Madrid goalkeeper, Iker Casillas and that if the Spanish international does chose to leave his boyhood club and make the move to Ligue 1, he would be paid a handsomely sum of 7 million euros per season.

yeah, there seem to be a conflict between EC and other medias. this week they reported that his release clause is actually 60 millions, not 38m. which would make sense as Falcao went for the same amount and that's the going rate for top CF it seems.

I'd be more interested if that 60m deal included Courtois going the other way.
Mainly so i can laugh at Chelsea for all those players apparently being the future of Chelsea being sold off one by one
Lukaku is next

Ridiculous really if that is true.
We will then have to look at other strikers. Not that we actually really stood a chance against Chelsea in the first place.

If I remember correctly Atletico's sporting director himself admitted that Costs has a €40m release clause. The €60m mentioned is the total sum which Chelsea has to pay to activate the clause, incl. Agent/lawyer fees, VAT percentage and what not. Atletico only receive €40m or less if they don't fully own the player.

Iturbe had a nice little dribbling raid from midfield leading to a goal in Veronas last game. U gotta love these type of players even tho most of them end up flopping when leaving for a big team.
