Gfycat is basically a compressed form of a gif. It loads much faster and with no drop in quality. Example. It makes seeing match highlights much easier. I tried posting some gfycats here but they just won't show up.

They aren't compressed gifs, they're HTML5 videos, so if you're posting them as images, that's probably why it doesn't work.
