This is just silly. If Suarez took penalties for his team he would have almost 40 goals in 25 games right now.

Khaled wrote:Most goals in year 2014 [club & country]:

Messi 20
Ibra, CR 17
Benzema 14
....

Suarez 9

Ibrahimovic has 18 goals in 20 games.
Ronaldo has 15 goals in 17 games.
Messi has 20 goals in 18 games.
Suarez has 9 goals in 13 games.

Suarez has also drawn 4 penalties, and all of Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo and Messi take penalties for their team. If Suarez did the same he would have 13 goals in 13 games (most likely). LOL Benzema. Though if Suarez played on Madrid he'd probably have 50 goals by now.

Not that it really matters though since it's measured over a whole club season in which Suarez has more than anyone in club football. GG.

but anyways i'll judge Suarez when he performs in Europe.

If Ronaldo ends up getting suspended for his comments on the ref Messi might have the chance to catch up xD

I bet Suarez is terrified of facing quality defenders such as those of Schalke, Galatasaray, Olympiacos, etc rofl

Anyways, hope Luis extends his lead tomorrow :coffee:

European Golden Shoe Standing:

Suarez 29 goals
C.Ronaldo 28
Messi & D.Costa 25

C.Ronaldo still has 4 of 6 Liga games at Home including games against Osasuna & Almeria. He'll probably score 2+ in each and take the lead...

Messi has scored 1 goal in each of his last 3 Liga games. He's not in his best form. Elche has the 2nd best defence in Liga at home this season (conceded just 2 in last 9 games at home) and last game is against Atleti. So Messi ia out of the race.

Its between Luis Suarez and C.Ronaldo. Both joint at 31. But CR has 2 games left (Celta away & Espanyol at home) while Luis Suarez has just 1 game left (Newcastle at home).

CR will win.

Ancelotti said CR's injury is not serious. Let's wait and see.

I think Ronaldo can still win the game, though Suarez may currently lead the goal scoring, for sure Ronaldo could bounce-back to win this award.

ESM is to hold a meeting on Wednesday to decide the possible European Golden Boot tiebreaker between CR7 & Suarez who are equal on 31 goals.

European Golden Boot deciding factor might be the number of games & mins played. CR7 has 30 games 2655mins vs Suarez 33 games 2964mins.

should be decided on who scored more in open play and free kicks. also who has more assists.

meaning suarez wins.

So in other words, they should fit the criteria to give Suarez the award.

If that's true, than it's BS. You can't decide on a tiebreaker after the season is over. If there was no foresight to have one in place already then the award should be shared if they end up with the same amount of goals.

It's more than likely not going to matter, as Ronaldo is expected to play against Espanyol and if he plays he will likely score.

Ronaldo not playing today vs Espanyol, so unless Messi/Costa score 4-5 goals, both Ronaldo and Suarez will be on 31 goals.
