when are we gonna praise Carlo for keeping Di Maria and selling Ozil?
by all means, one is thriving in a new midfield role where he has become an indispensable player, and the other is finding new ways to become irrelevant.
Carlo saw the light, selling Ozil and keeping Di Maria one of the tactical strokes of 2014

A lot of articles I've read have described Mesut Ozil as having a weak mentality, he seems to be a sore loser, type of player that loser belief quite early, Isco in time will surpass him i'm sure

Re: when are we gonna praise Carlo for keeping Di Maria and selling Ozil?
yet when he played for madrid you said he was better than cesc!!!!!, just proves how much rm fans overrated their fking players!!
anyway, ozil has been decent for us, not amazing but decent. think he might be more influential next season after having a pre season.

The real question is...when is the world going to acknowledge Maradona's vision

In any case I'm not surprised at all by Carlo's decision to keep Di Maria, he has that unending workrate and versatility that makes him very useful. Those are traits that all coaches value.
And it was actually Sabella that re-introduced the idea of Di Maria the CM, Carletto is just stealing it from Sabella, who stole it from Maradona.

Re: when are we gonna praise Carlo for keeping Di Maria and selling Ozil?
Yeh he deserves credit for that, although at the time I doubt he knew Di Maria would play CM. He sold Ozil and kept Di Maria mainly to balance the books, although he won't admit that due to Perez. I guess we can believe him a bit though when he say's he kept Di Maria because he's more versatile.
In terms of Di Maria in midfield, he's more composed in the LCM role. At RAM all he did was spam the in swinging cross to no avail. Still a sceptical though, since both he and Modric have struggled at times against teams who press high up the pitch. Neither are dictating CM's, although Modric can get away with it due to his agility and dribbling, while Di Maria's dribbling is more suited to the wings.

Ozil was always overrated, not a winning mentality

Its going to be funny when Ozil actually looks up and sees some players showing for a pass or making runs for Ozil to exploit next season.
Like really really funny.

how many playmakers in europe can feed players making runs for them? what actually differentiate Ozil from the other players in his position? he does little to nothing to help himself and his team.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Its going to be funny when Ozil actually looks up and sees some players showing for a pass or making runs for Ozil to exploit next season.

This thread would not exist in anything as trivial as an acid trip if Barcelona were still top

Lol no playmaker in the history of the sport can do anything without forwards in front of him making off the ball movement.
It's not like Arsenal have a few, they have zero atm doing anything they are all just standing still like complete planks watching Ozil like " do something special pls". With droopy looks on their faces.
Its no coincidence Ozil was lighting it up when Ramsey and Walcott were fit and now he has to deal with Cazorla and the likes not making any movements what so ever.
Its just a huge waste of time, its like having a striker who can't score. Playmakers are useless( especially the offensive ones) without the forwards in front of them making runs or just in general showing for the ball.
Y'all going to look very stupid when the aforementioned Walcott and Ramsey are fit and Arsenal end up adding a forward in the summer.

Re: when are we gonna praise Carlo for keeping Di Maria and selling Ozil?
I don't fully agree with that. If ozil could do more individually to turn a situation or had a better passing range the lack of movement wouldn't be as big a problem for him shining.
But of course I don't think he's the one to blame. He's the one who can perform at a great level with the right tools around, it's not him that needs to change

The amount of shit Nick would talk about Carlo and now all the praise? I don't get it.
Di Maria is doing great in the mid something that Carlo experimented with towards the end of last year and it's working.
I don't get how Nick is trying to belittle Ozil as if he is an expert or something.

still doesnt answer my question, where is that little extra that makes him different from other players in his position?
if all above average average playmakers have elite runners ahead of them, i am sure they would do pretty good.

Hmm I can think of plenty of playmakers that could change the game with an individual effort, unless your definition of a playmaker is ridiculously narrow.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Lol no playmaker in the history of the sport can do anything without forwards in front of him making off the ball movement

Re: when are we gonna praise Carlo for keeping Di Maria and selling Ozil?
oh please... Ozil was inconsistent at Madrid when he had all the finishers in the world. After his first 2 seasons, he went hollywood and started going down.
And Arsenal is not some scrub team.
It's a not a question of the assists i have a big problem with tbh... it's Ozil's lack of work rate and the fact that he completely disappears in games. He just doesn't bring it if he gets challenged. You're going to have games where you're going to struggle no matter how hard you try... happens to even the greatest. But you need to bring the effort. He's the featured player. He has no excuses.
As I mentioned in chat... fantastic player; but needs the circumstances of the team and the game to be right. He's not the kind of player that can force himself on a game. Workrate remains abysmal though... that i can't excuse.
And suddenly Walcott is this great striker
Makes Ozil who he is
Ramsey was the one being the difference-maker when he was on form and healthy. But isn't Ozil the one that should be the difference-maker and table-setter?

Re: when are we gonna praise Carlo for keeping Di Maria and selling Ozil?
Sports letting everything fly over his head so he can have a rant about nothing again what a shocker that is.....
I never mentioned the word quality.... i said no players are making movements.
Xavi and Pirlo would be nothing without the players in front of them making runs or just subtle off the ball movement into space.
Like it or not Walcott is the most important player for this team as he's the only one who stretches teams and makes runs along with Ramsey..... the rest of them stand still like utter mugs giving him zero to work with.
I never said Arsenal is a scrub team, this isn't about quality its about what a 10 requires and right now none of it is there.
Has f*ck all to do with work rate, what does work rate have to do with the fact Ozil isn't creating lol? but go ahead continue with your agenda because your mad Ozil left
I eagerly await your response of pointless ranting which has nothing to do with the issue at hand and does nothing to negate my points as per usual.
