Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
I think it's a pace we can't keep anyhow... the La Liga record is 121 (we set it a couple of years ago). We beat that and it's historic enough lol.Hapless_Hans wrote:I just wonder if sports will be disappointed if they only score 140 instad of 141 goals
Of course, Madrid play in a league that's actually competitive. We can't wrap up the league in March and rest everyone for the CL games like Bayern can... not that it did you much good last season

Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
Real Madrid is the best team in the world right now for sure. That doesn't mean they will win every game, or necessarily the CL, but I think if they played every team 10 times they would win 6 or more.

I'm the only Bayern supporter that has commented on this thread.
All the Germans support all the German teams.
Better than an Englishman supporting a Spanish team .

Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
Actually that means EP genuinely likes and supports Madrid based in its football as opposed to having any nationalism involved.
Although i will say that Germany is split in two... half absolutely hate Bayern and the other half like them There's no middle ground lol.

Actually I mainly like Manuel Neuer from Bayern (and several other great goalies they had). The club itself is another matter...sportsczy wrote:Although i will say that Germany is split in two... half absolutely hate Bayern and the other half like them There's no middle ground lol.

Mole and GunnerJay would probably disagree to this.
I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with your scenario unless it's like Getafe or something. Then one is just wasting people's time honestly.

I hate nationalism, and doesn't feel obliged to like something based on my nationality. I'm my own person, and I hate to be defined by the location I was born. The Danish league is so godawful to watch, I'd rather watch WNBA 70 hours straight than a midtable game from the Danish league.

Looking at the league table after matchday ten, I say yes, pretty much the best team in Madrid.

Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
Real have the best attack in the world, best player in the world who himself is in 'out of this world' form . They are the most in-form team in the world by a mile. So if form = deal then yes they are the biggest deal at the moment. 2nd & 3rd bests bayern and chelsea are miles away.
But in terms of overall quality of the team its debatable. Bayern has better defense and gk. midfield probably is equal.

Bayern Mehnich would get beaten comfortably if we were to play right now tbh.. They're not as good as they were under Jupp, Pep doesn't have Messi to save him

Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
Atm we are the best team in the world because we won the CL. However there are a couple of teams who have improved from last year like Chelsea or Bayern for example so it will be very hard to retain the crown. Anyways nobody knows what will happen when the real business starts in February/March. Remember this time last year Bayern were unbeatable and we were not even considered for the final forget winning it, so anything can happen and the time is going to come when we will struggle hopefully we don't have the same bad luck as Bayern had last year

Since the Valencia-Real Madrid fixture back in late December in which they let in 3 goals they've since conceded just 3 goals in their last 13 fixtures.
I don't know how he did it but Ancelotti managed to finally put together a solid Madrid backline...something even Mourinho wasn't able to do.
Their midfield which looked like crap earlier on in the season actually looks amazing since the decision to bench Isco and move Di Maria into central midfield & Alonso's return. While Modric is arguably the best CM in the entire world on current form.
We all know how good Ronaldo and Bale are but it's Jese who's making all the headlines while Benzema looks like he's finally regained his goalscoring touch (his overall performances still aren't as devastating as his Lyon days imo)
As I said before, greatest visionary of our time. He made this post in February and Madrid ended up winning La Decima.
How far will Gil take us?

Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
Just to be clear, I don't think Bayern are teh bestest either, I happen to think since Barcelona declined (a bit), Bayern lost Heynckes, and Chelsea strengthened, the top4 are Chelsea, Bayern, Real and Barca, and it's too close to call imho.
But Bayern fans downplaying the epic ass-whooping they received by Real are a bit delusional, just like Barca fans were when they got undone by Don Jupp; and Real fans are trying their hardest to join the club of the insane with ignoring their domestic shortcomings...
There's no reason you can't all suck a tiny bit.

Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
thing is, we don't have domestic shortcomings We started like crap last year and were 10 points behind Atleti/Barca come Jan as we had a new manager with a new system who was experimenting. THEN, we moved Di Maria to CM and we took off. Beat Atleti in CL Final, beat Barca in CDR Final... out only loss was the 4-3 to Barca and that one was mainly on Ramos going crazy, which happens.
This year... same thing. Kroos, James and Isco were new starters and we lost Alonso and Di Maria. No preseason due to WC either. So we spent 3 weeks figuring ourselves out. Atleti feasted on that since we played them in 3 of our first 5 games of the season. Heck, LaReal beat us too Once our "preseason" period ended, we've improved every game and are now destroying people including Barca.
Same map as last season except we got ourselves settled in less than 1 month as opposed to 4+ months.
So i don't get what you're alluding to at all.

Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
We actually have competition It's not like Bundifodder... you wouldn't know of course. You do realize that the CL Final was all La Liga and Europa was won by another La Liga team (3 out of 4 Europa semifinalists were La Liga). Heck, 4 out of the 8 CL quarter finalists were La Liga too.
And prior to last year, we had won La Liga of 2012. So when Carlo arrived, we had only gone one season without the league.

Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
True, we have no competition.
When we won the CL, our domestic competition was so crap they merely made it to.. the CL final as well
They did have an easy path there though admittedly.
Over-confident Real fans, I like it

Didn't Bayerns "fodder" competition almost kick you out in your La Decima season?

Re: Are Madrid the Real Deal?
We won La Liga 2 years ago though and CDR in 2011 and 2014. Both of which are considered domestic successes. I do get what Viva is writing though and sort of agree but Hala basically wrote all that needs to be said about this current Real Madrid.
