Well, Schalke didn't exactly feel like buying back a player for 6 mio Euros that they just sold that same club for for about 1.5 mio Euros, especially considering that his wages were now around 3 mio Euros per year, which is more than Schalke are willing to pay him.

True, but of course the mistake was made by selling him for such little money in the first place.

Also, contrary to Natalie Portman, with whom I'm delighted to be able to converse about football, I don't think he's shit, at that price he's still a bargain. Lots of potential, wasn't used propoerly by Tottenham (they bought a ton of players and didn't know what to do with them anyway).

The guy is 22 years old, fast, technical and an absolute tank. Its about as guaranteed as they come that he'll beast it in the premier league. Factor in that he'll more than likely be first choice along side Kompany with Nastasic and Demichellis in the rotation then means we can move Lescott's 90K a week salary on.

If Pellegrini and Txiki think he's "worth" it then I'm not going to argue because they sure as hell haven't done anything yet to make you question them. Fernandinho was supposed to be overpriced too wasn't he.....today no-one mentions the fee anymore.
