Nocerino played well on the ball but was bad off the ball, his defensive positioning was bad (maybe because of lack of game time). Its clear we need squad players for our midfield that can offer speed when needed.
On another note, I liked Balo's performance, Seedorf might just be the one to help him make the transition to world class. Rami also played a good game, he made very good tackles. I think Zapata + Rami is our best defensive partnership at the moment. However, I would like it if we bring in some of our primavera centre backs; this leads to my question: Is Luca Iotti any good?
Both Iotti and Pacifico were impressive in the pre-season and I feel either could be brought up...or both hell 2 for 2 get rid of both Mexes and Zapata they are both big liabilities and I honestly feel if they are getting playing time after all the shit they do why not risk letting the youngsters try their hand it wont be much difference in my opinion just we would get rid of like 6m in wages.

I am also pretty sure this was a good game by Nocerino not much that he did wrong.
I am with you all the way on Mexes. Regarding Nocerino, it's not that he makes many mistakes, it's that he goes missing in games. I'm not really sure what his role is anymore. He used to be B2B, but I don't think he gives us enough defensive cover or attacking threat to start over the likes of Cristante.

Really, really disappointed at the result especially as we started the match very well. Oh well, this is all part of the learning curve for Clarence.
And I agree on you all on how both Nocerino and Mexes should GTFO.

Kaka's performance yesterday was crap. Never liked him as a CAM behind a lone striker, never will.

Nocerino played like crap yesterday, everytime he had the ball it was a giveaway lol. defensively offers nothing at all. just running. but running where? lol plz GTFO you and ur 500K transfer. Kaka had a terrible game yesterday, its like as if the ball was a volleyball, or maybe his leg was a piece of steel. his first touch was horrendous. Emanuelson just looks scared and timid to take on his man, its like theres an invisible wall blocking him

Re: Milan vs Udinese
Cant really blame Seedorf for much with this hopeless squad making it hard to play football, and our squad depth are based on ultra cheap players who can only run like headless chicken and hoof the ball to Ibra who are no longer there.
This summer will be the most critical on the transfer market in many years, and I dont even dare to think about how little money we are going to spend. I hope Seedorf gets a chance to sign young players we need and can afford.

My issue with Nocerino and I'm sure others will agree is not simply Nocerino's work on the ball which might be described as uninspiring but largely stable. Rather it is the work that Nocerino does off the ball, particularly to facilitate our build-up from the back which represents one of his greatest weaknesses and one which is particularly exposed within the 4-2-3-1. Nocerino too often waits for the ball to reach him in the opposition half instead of dropping deep to pick the ball up as Montolivo, De Jong, Poli and even Muntari do naturally as part of their game. His off the ball movement was unacceptable in this game, standing stationary in blocked passing lanes rather than dropping into space or moving laterally to open up the angle for a pass and allow us to move the ball quickly from the back. Instead, we were often forced to go side to side to work up the right through De Jong instead. Even Kaka himself was forced to drop in between the central defenders on occasion to pick up the ball from midfield due to the stationary nature of our midfield. It is not enough to simply blame one player, as this is often a sign of deeper issues regarding the team's understanding of their roles within the game plan, however Nocerino is particularly culpable in this matter. Whether it be in a three man midfield or two, he has consistently displaced El Shaarawy, Robinho and Kaka from the channels they should be occupying on the left in the final third through his counter-productive eagreness to get forward and has created a vacuum of pressure in the centre of the pitch.
I would however disagree with the assertion that this was the only issue to be found in his game as on more than one occasion he was too easily dragged across the pitch in front of the defence. It is often an issue when a player is forced to adapt from a three man midfield to the pivot, as rather than positioning oneself with reference to a midfield anchor, both partners must themselves balance the responsibility to occupy the centre. In a sense, such a system often requires two players to do the work that one man could achieve in a well oiled 4-3-3, an issue I have always had with the 4-2-3-1, however I am certain that Seedorf will be looking to make further alterations to our personnel and their specific roles. In any case, a Coppa Italia game was a good time to give Nocerino an opportunity to prove himself or otherwise. I'm thankful for what he's done for us, as at the very least he has always given us nothing but his best, however I do not feel we shall especially miss his presence now that he has gone to West Ham, apart from the locker room where he did an exceptional job in ensuring that the youngsters amongst the squad kept a level head and learnt the values of hard work.
