Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Schalke general manager Horst Heldt insists that the club have received no offers for Germany international Julian Draxler. Arsenal have been linked with a big money move for the 20-year-old but Heldt says that it is purely media speculation.
“I have not been told that Julian would like to leave us, either in the winter of the summer," he told Der Westen. "There have not been any requests from any club regarding Julian. It boils down to wild speculation, which has been happening in England. The clubs would have to tell us if they were interested.”

Arsenal target Antoine Griezmann has dismissed speculation that he will leave Real Sociedad in January.
Quotes emerged during the week stating that he was interested in a move to a major European side to boost his World Cup chances but the 22-year-old insists that he will finish the season in Spain.

“I was clear on this point with my club, I will pay this season with Real," he is quoted as saying in L'Equipe. "I want to help them into Europe. But when I say that, it does not mean that I am leaving this summer. We shall see in due time. I know one day I will go but it does not obsess me.”

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Schalke coach Jens Keller has admitted that talks with Tottenham over re-signing Lewis Holtby have stalled over the Premier League club's asking price.
Spurs are demanding £10 million (€12m) for the midfielder but Die Knapper are not in a position to meet that figure.
"We can't really imagine such a transfer, financially," Keller told Bild. "Talks have not yet reached an advanced stage."
Indeed, Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt explained that the proposed deal has also been put on hold because of Spurs' refusal to even entertain the idea of a loan until the end of the season.
"We have good contact with Lewis. He enjoyed playing with Schalke and he is not quite happy in London right now," he revealed.
"But Tottenham do not want to let him leave on loan - that is why the deal is difficult. It makes no sense for us, spending a lot of money for a player who we sold a year ago because his contract was expiring.
"We are currently not negotiating with Tottenham."

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Montpellier coach Rolland Courbis has urged Remy Cabella to shun a switch to Newcastle United, claiming 'they are not a big club'.
Cabella's father, Hector, recently claimed that a transfer is likely to be pushed through during the January window.
He told Actuafoot: "Yes we are negotiating for Remy and yes he will join Newcastle this winter."
Montpellier, though, have yet to confirm that an agreement has been reached and Courbis claims to have been blocked from discussing the matter.
He is, however, prepared to offer an opinion on the standards Cabella should be setting - and feels Newcastle come up short.
Courbis said after leading his side to a 2-0 victory over Sochaux on Saturday: "They are not a big club.
"And I hope another club tries to buy him.
"As a player I would not even want to spend a week there."

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Yesterday Sky said "first small contacts for Guarin from Manchester United. A possible idea, no concrete right now "
today ... Guarin doesn't play from the beginning of the match , Mazzarri never renounces to him .... simply choice, preferred Alvarez in that role, some say ... ok
Then Alvarez gets injuried and Mazzarri replaces with Kovacic ( Mazzarri doesn't play young players, he doesn't consider much) and not Guarin.
Besides today it's raining much and there is muddy pitch, ideal match for Guarin surely more than Kovacic
for me we are going to sell him , really to Manchester United last minutes Fellaini-esque deal?
Chelsea bought Matic..

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Vito Mannone insists that he is having the time of his life at Sunderland as he prepares to deal Manchester United a further blow in the transfer market.
The 25-year-old Italian goalkeeper has been one of the Black Cats' more dependable performers since moving from Arsenal in the summer and says his main focus is on helping Sunderland progress to the Capital One Cup final.
"I am really living my best time right now at Sunderland and I don't see why I would move right now," said Mannone. "I want to stay as first choice and I want my performances to improve. That's the only aim I have, apart from aiming to beat Manchester United."

Arsenal are believed to be leading the race to sign Anderlecht defender Cheikhou Kouyate.
The 24-year-old Senegal international is being monitored by a number of Premier League and Russian clubs and the player's agent expects him to leave Belgium in the near future.
"We are discussing with the representatives of Arsenal and Liverpool, in particular the first are very interested in him," Saffet Balkan told Tuttomercato. "I also had contact with Manchester City and Southampton, so he’s very likely to arrive in the Premier League shortly.”

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Demba Ba will not be leaving the club in January after Fernando Torres suffered a knee injury.
Torres suffered the problem in Chelsea's 3-1 win over Manchester United after he replaced hat-trick hero Samuel Eto'o.
After the match, Mourinho confirmed that they had now closed the door on any possible departure for Ba, who had been linked with several Premier League rivals.
"Now we lose Fernando for a few weeks with something in his lateral ligament [in his knee] and that is why we have Demba in the squad," said Mourinho.
"We decided not to open the door to him [to leave] because he is a good player and we need him. The next few weeks is Demba and Samuel and I hope they do well for us."
Mourinho hopes Ba will take his chance in the coming weeks.
"It's time for Demba. It's a pity because Nando (Torres) is in a good moment, but it's time for Demba," he said.
"Demba had a fantastic week; (it was) very difficult for me to leave him out of selection because he worked very, very well. Next matches is for Demba or Samuel. Let's go."

You're not going to get a better striker than Vucinic on loan or on the cheap like he will be
I'd take him over Giroud any day, although they could play together as Vucinic likes to bring others into the game.
