I'm not saying instead of Costa, I'm saying in addition to.

You can say there'll be issues of the starting spot, but fierce competition is hardly a bad thing (see Cech-Courtois), and surely Falcao would have been a better addition than Remy? It's not like money is a problem.

Because he is 28 years old (will be almost 29 by the time he gets back to 100% fitness) would cost 55m and is coming off a poor half season in the physical French league (a lot of Falcao's goals were Pens).

Remy on the other hand, is a year younger, cost at most 10.5m and is coming off a good season in England where he scored 15 goals + Remy deal was easy to secure while Falcao, with his 75m release clause would have either cost that, or very close to that with Madrid and City snooping around.

Thats not even mentioning the wage difference.

Wages I'll take as a reasonable point, but the loan fee being thrown around is roundabout £20m rather than the huge sums you keep mentioning.

How City with their FFP sanctions and already having spent up to their alleged hard-line limit are able to swing it legally I have no idea.

Also, if Falcao flops horribly, we would have wasted 20m on him AND not even own him. Sounds like the a recipe for a bad deal.

He is probably a better goalscorer but Remy is just as quick and is a much better all-round footballer. Since Remy can dribble, pass and play in multiple positions.

I'm not really arsed about the multiple positions thing.

Cheatcharito has proven he can perform and produce for a top side. Remy, not so much. At least not yet.

He does have 59 goals in 153 games for Utd. Reasonable but not special.

Here is some interesting facts for you. (via wiki)

Total games: Remy 238. Hernandez 232
Total goals: Remy 91. Hernandez 86

Remy is a year and a half older than Hernandez but Remy has been scoring most of those goals for clubs like Newcastle, Nice and Marseille while most of Hernandez's come from Utd.

Yea, that's my point. Hernandez has done it for a big side fighting for titles; Remy, as yet, hasn't. And like I said, the fact that the former was almost exclusively a bench player brought on as a sub for the majority of his appearances makes his superb record all the more impressive.

Remy scoring for scrub teams like Nice and Newcastle is equally impressive due to his lack of service there.

Hernandez, while good, often got it served to him on a plate.

You can say that if you'd like, but football doesn't get easier the higher up you go. Performing consistently for a team at the very top is much harder than doing so for a mid-table side where the pressure's considerably less.

Considering he isn't coming with the pressure of being first choice. I think he'll handle the pressure.

I personally think Remy is the better player, but we shall see.
