Re: Luis Suarez V2
Can't edit on phone but you're "out of it".
Today was the first day he played as the CF since Sturridge came back from injury 8 games or so ago. He's had 6-7 assists since. He's playing a different role.
Yes he snatched a few shots today, but that was ONE game and he was involved in 2 our goals. But yeah, finished.

Re: Luis Suarez V2
I'm not sure how team winning is related to individual quality, teams can win with player not playing great if others play great. Both Sturridge and Henderson played better than him. That's a long away from few games back when he was hailed the best player in the world.stevieg8 wrote:You're just out of it, because again, you're disregarding the fact that his role int he team has shifted with Sturridge coming back, and you're disregarding his contributions. You're acting like goal scoring is all we ask for from him, when it's far from it.
His finishing has been poor recently (I'm not denying that), but otherwise he's been playing very well - and as McAgger pointed out, the team is winning. So I'm not sure how we get to "finished" from that.
It's fine if you don't watch enough Liverpool to know our tactics or performances, there's no reason for a neutral to watch every game of ours. But you should at least back down from opinions when the people who DO watch every game tell you you're offbase.

I would like to see him get his scoring boots back on as he is up near the front and is a key part of our attack, but it's clear that's not the priority Rodgers has given him.
Has he been as good as we know he can be? No. Is he "done"? That's a stupid question.
he was that good for a month...
still a great player, but nowhere near as good as Ronaldo as people were saying 2 months ago

Re: Luis Suarez V2
*sigh*
If you insist on taking one line in my post out of context and only responding to that, rather than understanding the purpose of the entire paragraph, I have no reason to continue discussing.
One last try to summarize my point, maybe you can respond to it for real this time, and then I'm done:
Suarez has been playing very well even despite his scoring record falling off, and while I would appreciate it if he picked his finishing back up, it's not necessary because his contributions have been quite good regardless, and it's showing in our results.
Does that make sense?

Interesting, may I ask which month you're referring to? You can take your pick of any from November 2012 through January 2014...

Well it kind of makes sense, if the sense is are you happy that your team is winning. Team winning hardly is a indicator of individual quality of one player though.

But Harmoinca.. his average whoscored.com rating over those last 6 league games is still 8.35 which is nearly the same as Messis rating!!

I fully expected for the haters to come crawling from their holes once Suarez's goal stats dried up a bit.
And the answer to all of your critics, is watch the f*ckin matches before coming in here and making yourself look stupid.

What Messi has got to do with Suarez scoring? Messi has 8,78 average from the last 6 league games, and that's coming from a injury, playing multiple cup games and CL at the same time.zigra wrote:But Harmoinca.. his average whoscored.com rating over those last 6 league games is still 8.35 which is nearly the same as Messis rating!!
I already predicted the fitness/freshness edge disappearing months ago. It just takes logic to understand it, and accept it.

A bit of dry spell in front of goal lately, but still contributes at least one assist per game during his drought. Saving his goals for away games vs Sotton and moyes

Re: Luis Suarez V2
Suarez gives more to a team than ronaldo imo. He's become a great passer and been superb creatively, a way better dribbler, and is a very hard worker too.
It's just kind of difficult to say this purely because he doesn't play in the champions league

Wasn't it you who wrote this rating is better than oppinion?
Because if that was you as I think it was (or if you just think it's a good way to meassure a players performance) how could a player "be finished" by having an average of 8.35 over the last 6 games? Shouldn't that tell us that 8.35 isn't good? And if 8.35 isn't good wouldn't that tell us that Messi didn't have a good season so far? And what would it tell us about the rest of the league if 8.35 isn't good and no player apart from Suarez comes even close to an average 8.00 rating in the league?
Of course I think this rating is bullshit but Suarez has still been very good over the last 6 games. Don't even really know why we're looking at the last 6 games tbh. Why not the last 7 or the last 5?

Re: Luis Suarez V2
It's all relative, as finished, as not being able to score, or not being clearly the best player in PL.zigra wrote:Harmonica wrote:What Messi has got to do with Suarez scoring? Suarez has 8.19 rating from the last six games, not 8.35. First you bring up these numbers (falsely) to support your claim, and then you dismiss them in the next paragraph? What the hell kind of weird argument is that?

Re: Luis Suarez V2
Well you're argument has no basis because Suarez IS actually playing well. You're just looking at his goal stats and making an assumption that he hasn't been as good as when he was scoring left and right.
You said it yourself that today was the only match you watched, or something along those lines.

Playing well is still worse, much worse than he was playing couple months ago. Or are you saying that he's just as good as couple months ago?McAgger wrote:Well you're argument has no basis because Suarez IS actually playing well. I am not sure you have watched much of us this season.
He isnt scoring as many goals like months back becoz he is switched to the RW and Struddige is playing as Striker. That why he has 5 assists and 1 goal rather than 5 goals when he was playing as Striker.

Re: Luis Suarez V2
I didn't read your freshness/fitness argument. Are you saying he's not fit/fresh?
And no playing well is not worse. First off you are ignoring the fact that Suarez does NOT play the same position or role that he did when he was scoring left and right. Sturridge was injured so everything was on Luis' shoulders to do during that 2-3 month period. He's now playing for the team to accommodate Sturridge up top.
And like I said, as long as Liverpool is winning, and Suarez is contributing to attack and to overall play, no one associated with our club or Luis Suarez himself care about a drought. Suarez is not a player that needs his ego stroked before the teams well being unlike some other superstars.
