PS3 HDMI not working

Today while I was playing, screen just went black and No Signal is given. No video or sound. Have 2 ports, none of them work. TV is Sony Bravia and PS3 is 120 GB slim, can anyone help?

Have you tried a different HDMI cable?

If not, try using the AV cable to narrow down where the problem is coming from

Tried the AV cable, does'nt work. I miss my PS3 Sad

Gonna try it out on a friend's house tomorrow.

Did you reset it first? You can't switch between HDMI and AV cable without resetting.. Turn off your PS3, then hold down the power button for a few seconds (it will turn on then beep twice or something like that, then turn back off)

Turn it back on and the AV should be working, if your HDMI cable is fine then it will ask you to switch to HD resolution.. If not then get a new HDMI cable

I reset it and used AV Cable. HDMI works but whenever I give HD settings (720p, 1080i, 1080p) screed goes black and there is no signal. No problem with HDMI cable as my Xbox 360 works fine in HD. I did not play PS3 for a day and played it today, it works now but it's still giving problems. The issue seems to be on the 'handshake' between the PS3 and TV.

That's weird since your 360 works fine..

Whenever I take my PS3 to my friends house the HDMI doesn't work at first and I have to reset it before it does, but that's because his TV is a little older than mine and it doesn't support the same HD resolutions..

Your situation is different though..

Nah it's not exactly uncommon. The problem is the 'handshake' between the TV and PS3, happened to a lot of people. It works now but still gives some problems.
