Yes, because if there's one thing that the summer showed, it's that Suarez has all of the power and can definitely force a move that Liverpool aren't open to.halamadrid2 wrote:if we showed interest Suarez would make sure we got him on a cut price. I wanted Piatti to leave last season but he seems to be playing OK now under Djukic.
Hopefully Adrian or/and Vela come our way with another CB.

Someone said they think he's injured. Last I heard he was training actually. Either way, he's not seeing the bench even and he'll be off in January if Spurs can offload him. They tried to in the summer, anyway.Art Morte wrote:McEachran

Pretty sure Adebayor is happy to rot in the Tottenham reserves as long as he gets paid.

Tbf, it'd be a lot different if Madrid bid in the summer, and not Arsenal.RedOranje wrote:Yes, because if there's one thing that the summer showed, it's that Suarez has all of the power and can definitely force a move that Liverpool aren't open to.halamadrid2 wrote:if we showed interest Suarez would make sure we got him on a cut price. already have a hard time getting Isco in and Mata is exactly the same as Isco... won't happen.

Re: Players who should already be considering moves in January?
In our setup we would play Mara as a forward. Isco will eventually learn to play that role in midfield, its really only a question of how long it takes.
Mata on the other hand....no.
Even if we defied logic and pursued him (which tends to happen) I don't think Juan has any interest in a move here. Left on bad terms.

Re: Players who should already be considering moves in January?
as forward where though... for Bale? It makes no sense. You already have Di Maria setting himself up as the super sub and Morata, Jese, etc.
Carlo plays a 433. Isco is struggling since he's being forced to learn the CM role. Mata could never become a CM... so he has nowhere to play.
Mata to PSG may happen... but according to French press, he's the option only if they can't get Reus or Draxler. They want more of a pure winger.

Mata would be good for Barca tbh. Neymar - Messi - Mata.. fantastic attack.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm saying exactly what you're saying, but just with the caveat of if he were to be bought - he'd play as a forward. I never rule us out of a signing on logic alone

Mata is a shat winger and Barca have no need for forwards unless they are a CF off the bench Larsson type signing.ExtremistEnigma wrote:Mata would be good for Barca tbh. Neymar - Messi - Mata.. fantastic attack.

Mata isn't really a forward. He's more of a midfielder. The wide players are usually goal scoring type players.

Re: Players who should already be considering moves in January?
When have Barca really used wingers? Mata was mostly used as a wide left player in his first season at Chavs under AVB and was fantastic.. second highest assister in PL. Last season, he had sort of a free role and all the attacks went through him. Just because he had a better season last season, doesn't mean he is a shat winger.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Mata is a shat winger and Barca have no need for forwards unless they are a CF off the bench Larsson type signing.ExtremistEnigma wrote:Mata would be good for Barca tbh. Mata is a forward mate. Ever wonder why Mourinho doesn't like to use him as the #10?

Re: Players who should already be considering moves in January?
Doesn't matter he's not better than Pedro or Sanchez in an inside forward role.
And no he wasn't used as a wide left player he was AM... always has been at Chelsea.
Besides he strolls around more than Messi
Barca can't afford to have two players in the front line who stand still the whole time waiting for the ball the team lacks work rate as it is.

Not entirely sure that's possible. Short of unfolding a camp chair and just lounging on it from the 10th to the 90th minute.

Re: Players who should already be considering moves in January?
The role in which Mata's potential is fully utilized, is behind the CF. If you sign him to play him elsewhere it's a waste of time and money. He wouldnt have that role at either Madrid or Barca, so both teams are better off looking elsewhere.ExtremistEnigma wrote:When have Barca really used wingers?
