Free players for January window
This is an interesting little piece I got from redcafe. The players whom clubs can "Approach" as in FM for a pre-contract snapping up, for the move to be finally completed in the summer. These are the players. Which all players you guys will pick for your club from this list. Some interesting names in this for sure. Khedira, Ayew etc for free wont be a bad idea at all.
I think will pick Schar, Delph, and Chiellini and De jong for Man U.

Half of those are negotiating with their current clubs but I'll play: Khedira, Lichtsteiner and Schär.

Re: Free players for January window
I'm surprised to see Connor Wickham there, Sunderland paid pretty good money for him and he's only 21 still. I would have thought they would have tied him down to a new contract already.
I also wonder what are City's plans for Milner? Are they negotiating? A mid-table club could get a bargain if he becomes available on a free.
We'll see what happens with Johnson, but Gerrard will surely be offered a new contract.
If Aston Villa fail to keep Delph, that's going to a big blow for them. That guy might be good enough to play for a top club in the Prem, would certainly be interesting to see.
Outside of the Prem, the names I find interesting to find on that list: Khedira, Lichsteiner, Konoplyanka, Ayew. If either of the last two are free agents in the summer, I'd like Liverpool to take a chance on either one.

Would love to get Lichtsteiner and Schar but I doubt either will be on our radar. Could see us in on Milner though.

Delph's level is somewhere in midtable. Tottenham/Everton would be the highest point. Should stay at Villa for now

Remember how he used to turn into prime Platini when he was negotiating his contract?

Prime Platini? I could've sworn he was Pele in midfield for us towards the end of the 2012-13 season

Flamini's contract expires in 2016, explains why he's still shit this season.

Re: Free players for January window
yea finding Milner's name in there is a bit of a . Lol and then he is playing so well lately for them.
They may in all probability tie him down, but its weird they have left it this late. And If they lose him thanks to this bleep up, wow... its gonna be 1 helluva story.

Re: Free players for January window
Milner is overpaid... that's why he's getting no love. He makes £80k per week. I'm sure he got offered an extension at probably either half or 2/3 that amount and he refused.
Same issue with Gignac and Ayew at OM... they make too much money and want more than the club is willing to give. They had the opportunity to leave the last two summers but nobody wanted to pick up the tab.

Re: Free players for January window
Roma already linked with Johnson, Lichtsteiner, and Konoplyanka so that they're all on this list isn't too surprising.
Lichtsteiner is former Laziale which makes his move very unlikely, despite his ability as a player.
Konoplyanka's arrival would mean that one of our forwards leaves. That would likely be Ljajic, which would be unfortunate and a bit unfair to him.
That leaves just Johnson, who we were just linked to yesterday. Despite his form, the ease at which we could get him makes him an attractive option.

Re: Free players for January window
Someone should get Maxi Pereira.
Not super talented and will get 8-10 yellows and 2-3 reds a season, but he is tough as nails and loves to defend.

I was just thinking Pereira would be a solid pickup for many teams.
Out of that list, his name did stand out to me.

Imagine having a midfield trio of Montolivo, De Jong and Khedira without spending a single penny.

He is maybe 30 now I should have said, he is declining a little physically. Probably just below the level needed to be a starter on a CL team.

That is true, but would still be a quality pick up.
Arsenal could use him, as could Liverpool, just to name a couple.

I bet Max Eberl has already started negotiations with Basel about Fabian Schär to snatch him in winter before anyone else can get him..
