Spurs are shet. Can't create or score enough goals to save their lives. Hope they carry on that form against United next sunday.

Spurs overpayed for average sexy-sounding foreign players...Just like when Liverpool overpayed for those average English players.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Now I know how opposition fans felt when United scored late winners/equalizers against their teams.
It bloody sucks!!!
We are riddle with injuries atm and some of those replacement players we have are average/shit. Cleverley, Fellaini, Smalling at rb, Welbeck up front...just shet.
Cardiff have Arsenal at home next week. Would love for a similar outcome, but I think the gooners would be too strong for them. As for us, Spurs away next.....who are worst than we are atm, but they do have home advantage . The game can go either way.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
In current circumstances the only team that can challenge Arsenal is Manchester City. And even then, City's away form has been poor.
If Arsenal can keep this form until the end of the season, they will win the league by quite a margin in my opinion. But they will more likely than not hit a slump at some point and it would be best if this happens now than in January.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
I'd rather we win right now and create a good gap and THEN hit the inevitable slight dip of form
By the way, surprised Dnmac hasn't bumped his "Arsenal looking terrific" thread yet, some funny stuff in that thread:lol:

Our dip usually starts about a month ago . We always start poorly then finish the season strong so If we're still top of the league or there about in January I'd be confident in winning the league, though at the moment i still think it will be either Citeh or Cska Chav.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
i dont understand why would Arsenal drop points, they just have Walcott back and there are other players who will be fit after few weeks.
Unless any key defender or key midfielder of theirs get injured long term, I really dont see them dropping points so easily against scrub teams specially

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
i just have some regrets that i actually thought soldado is going to be huge hit for tottenham and negredo is going to be big flop.
quite the opposite. still long way to go, but negredo has truly been exceptional lately.

dont know what happened to him. he was banging goals at valencia. and EPL should have been more fit to him with open games.Robespierre wrote:Soldado is an insult to a club that had Gascoigne,Lineker,Klinsmann , Sheringham ...

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Difference with Arsenal this time round is all the dross is gone (Chamakh, Squillaci, Denilson) and has been replaced with genuine quality (Giroud, Podolski, Mertesacker, Ozil) Add to that we now have an established defence, as opposed to the duct-tape-and-gum mix-n-match pairings we used to dabble with, means we can not only score goals, but preserve leads

Next 3 games: Hull, Norwich, West Ham
time to finally establish a gap with the teams behind us.
we must remain in 2nd place heading into WHL in 2 weeks time. I believe we will.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
We'll start dropping more points when we experience another injury crisis, or when Giroud inevitably gets injured and we're forced to rely on Bendtner, Podolski or Walcott up front. Plus we've got Everton, City and Chelsea consecutively soon, with Napoli sandwiched in between. We've got a lot of hard games back-to-back this season.
We can afford to that, though, since we've established a decent lead over everybody else, nobody else in the league seems to be playing with any sort of consistency right now and I trust us not to enter a rut because of one bad result, unlike in previous seasons.
Our next few games look fun:
Cardiff (A)
Hull (H)
Everton (H)
City (A)
Chelsea (H)
West Ham (A)
Newcastle (A)
