Re: 'Best' team Juve had
While I agree Grosso had many terrible moments at Juve I still wouldn't put him in that list considering the player he used to be.Andrew_p wrote:GK: Belardi, Vanstrattan, Novembre.

Sissoko is not a bad player by any means imo, he was a decent destroyer in the middle (although I remember he never managed to get a pass longer than 5 metres, but that wasn't his job either ). When he broke his leg he was actually sorely missed in the midfield, never really recovered after sadly. One of the better performers in a terrible era.
I think Melo is one of the most divisive players in Juve's recent history, people seem to forget there were months when he pretty much carried our whole midfield (can't really remember now, but if I recall well it was in his second season), but his terrible first season, moments of madness and huge inconsistency pretty much overshadowed his good performances. A little bit (okay, let's say a lot more) self-control and I'd happily see him on our bench with a low salary in case of injury crisis, third tier sub or something like that. Let's not forget he has done wonders at Galata in his first season too.
Thiago is another curious case, he was really bad for us, can't argue with that, but he has shined like a diamond since he joined Atletico Madrid.

Re: 'Best' team Juve had
Many of the players I listed are undoubtedly talented. All of them though, talented or not, for the majority of their spell at Juventus were either bad or horrible. Melo had a great first half of the season for example but for the rest 1.5 seasons he spent with us, he was bad.dronte wrote:While I agree Grosso had many terrible moments at Juve I still wouldn't put him in that list considering the player he used to be.Andrew_p wrote:GK: Belardi, Vanstrattan, Novembre.

There are players that sporadically had good performances but overall they offered little.

Re: 'Best' team Juve had
true that. Sissoko wasnt that bad of a player, he could still have a place in this time. Also Melo (eventhough he had a HUGE contract)
Tiago, yes he was bad for Juventus but he has actually found his place in Atletico and plays damn good.
Poulsen.....bad transfer, but before Juventus he was REALLY good so...

Re: 'Best' team Juve had
I disagree heavily with yours. Melo and Molinaro were bad, but not that bad that they make the starting lineup. Melo had a very good 2nd season, and Molinaro was never that bad defensively, the problem was just that he was horrible offensively. I remember one time he even did a good job shutting down Ribery.Juvellinapoli wrote:juventus101 wrote:--Belardi--

Diego shouldnt be in the squad at all. He was simply a scapegoat for us in a bad period. He wasnt as good asnhe shouldve been, bu5 he wasnt all that bad either.
Mellberg and Brazzo were always very good bench players.
Nocerino and Palladino werent great, but they werent nearly as bad as some others. I guess I could understand them being on the bench, but only because I cant think of anyone else.
Isla came off of a serious injury last season and this season has just started. I think we should give him some time to see what he can do. If he continues this form though then youre right.
Toni was bad, but he was never expexted to be our big stat signing. He was a stopgap solution, nothing more. And that 18-yard header was a beauty.
Guys like Poulsen, Amauri, Paolucci, Grygera, Motta, etc deserve to be here much more than the people you listed. You could even say Elia was a flop more than Mellberg or Brazzo to be honest.

Re: 'Best' team Juve had
Mellberg wasnt that bad and he is actually doing a good job in Greece. Like 101 said, toni was not a bad buy and if u look at his stats he did the job he came to do, which was to come from the bench and score goles. 4 goals in 8 appearance is not bad at all
