Vucinic praises Juve team effort
Mirko Vucinic was the hero in Juventus’ 2-1 Coppa Italia win over Milan, but he’s paid tribute to his teammates.
The Montenegro international came off the bench and, like in last year’s competition, scored an extra-time goal which sealed qualification against the Rossoneri.
“It’s our spirit that makes this team unique,” the former Roma player commented after booking a semi-final date with Lazio.
“Everyone here gives their all from the first minute until the last and helps out their teammates. There aren’t any prima donnas at Juventus.
“Going through is the most important thing as far as we’re concerned,” continued the centre-forward.
“Milan are never easy opponents and it wasn’t simple to win. We managed to do so and we’re still on track in every competition.”
Vucinic is being used with caution by Juventus boss Antonio Conte because of a problematic fitness issue.
“I’m still not at the top of my game,” he added. “My ankle injury has not completely recovered.
“But my condition is improving and it went well against Milan – even if I’m still yet to get a full 90 minutes under my belt.
“I’d like to thank the club’s medical staff who are handling my recovery well.”
