Remember how I played DM on fifa 13?

Was effective, we won in higher divisions because i constantly shadowed pace whores and cleared OTT through balls

I was so, so bored it was unreal. I got passed to maybe 3 times a game and I was always looking at the cpu attackers.

Can't ask people to do that tbh, it's ridiculously boring.

It's not like they can play like Pirlo either, you dont get enough of the ball in your own 3rd, or enough time.

Yeah when there's like 7 people on it's a free for all.

But when there's an average amount on, I aint giving up dat RAM/RM spot.

I'm sure someone would want to just play as a pure DM. If the DM wants to attack, might as well pick an attacking spot. However it worked alright tonight, but in higher divisions not sure.

Nobody wants to play pure DM on fifa

Because they never get the ball, partially because people want to pass forwards, partially because they play exactly where attackers on the other team are off the ball, and get man marked.

Then after all that, you're asking them not to get involved in attacking.

Yeh that would be the whole point. Whoever would be DM would be DM because they enjoy defending and don't care about attacking. Just like real life.

But you're missing the point

In real life they're still involved in play, even if it is from deep

On fifa they will 99% of the time be bypassed.

whenever you used to play DM you were playing SS most games

tried playing strictly DM a bit on FIFA 13

It's not gratifying just because your team is winning, doesn't work that way it's an entertainment game. It's hard and requires a lot of patience and there's no payoff other than seeing your teammates score half a pitch away. eff dat.

I played there for quite a while 5-6 months in to fifa 13

won loads, felt depressing

You don't get the ball as much as the GK

When you do, you must play a quick, short pass or the strikers close you down

You constantly stop the other team from getting chances, but nobody gives a shit.

They'd get bypassed, but there would be a lot of opportunities to tackle etc due to FIFA being end to end.

In real life pure DM's just make a simple pass and never attack, which would be classed as 'boring' anyway.

I wouldn't mind making my pro a pure DM just to balance things out defensively if we ever do struggle there.

Our tactics are fine, press like mad. Wide men track back, strikers press CB's and GK

If you want to go DM fine

But it's fkn boring if you play like I used to (like you want people to play)

I played pure DM for bit when I made my pro tall on FIFA 13 and it wasn't too bad. You just have to want to play the role where you do all the dirty work and don't attack (unless your team is losing).

But for now everything is working, so no need to really change anything.

It just leaves the team at a disadvantage when opposition counters and there's no one back except the back 4 defending.

At least 1 midfielder should always be back.

I done great last year saving 1 on 1s and complicated shots, but long range shit shots seemed to fk me up and ended up spilling them.

Besides I was pretty much staying back tonight when playing alongside Cascia when I saw he was pushing up a lot. Stopped in the last match tho' because it was boring me lol.

It's not split up into attacking or not attacking

People select DM

A) Because they have to

B) Because they want to defend, but not to the degree where they do not attack at ALL. It's not like our DMS were constantly playing next to the strikers.

Because all the CAM positions are taken and that's where I play best lol. And my pro is poor I would just screw you guys up if I played as a CAM. However, staying back is such a bore, its not fun at all.

TBH, MT is one of our best players. It would be better off playing him as an attacker rather than a DM.
