Samuel Eto'o

He's scored 6 in 15 - half of which came in one game. He puts in a good shift and contributes to link-up, but he can't be relied on to score goals.

Like I said, that isn't poor, if you want poor, look at our other CF's.

Which is why we've done nob all in the League in years. Can get away with it in Cups where a moment of brilliance or two from any player can be enough to see you through, but on a week-to-week basis over the course of a 38-game season, it shows. Has the last several years for us and it's by some miracle that it hasn't this year....at least not yet. You can say we're top without strikers, but who's to say we wouldn't be even further ahead if we did have them? Who can imagine how many of those losses could have been turned into draws and draws into wins if we had a world class CF to grab a game by its neck and score something out of nothing when the team may not have been playing particularly well (not to mention put away even a few of those million chances we created in so many of our draws/losses this season) as every other team that has top-drawer strikers enjoys. It's absolutely essential, and the fact that we've managed to make do with our deficiencies in that position to a certain degree thus far shouldn't mean we should now decide to forget about trying to get strikers that can actually score altogether.

I'm not arguing with you about that. I am just saying that he hasn't been that bad.

Not top quality but he hasn't been a failure.

No, not yet. But if we do fail to win the league, lack of world class striking options will be one of the main reasons for it.
