Everton could miss out on Luca Marrone after Monaco entered negotiations with Juventus over the midfielder.

Roberto Martinez wants a new midfielder and Marrone is among his targets.

But he could now struggle to land the 23-year-old after Monaco joined the race to sign him.

Reports in Italy claim the Principality side have opened talks with the Serie A champions, who are prepared to deal.

Free-spending Monaco also enquired about Manchester United target Claudio Marchisio, but Juventus warned them the Italy star is not for sale.
