What i am most curious about, is whether Ozil will become a field general under wenger. Cesc to this day is still the best n10 i have seen since Zidane, playing in that hole. He was everything. true field general. I am very curious to see if Ozil will evolve or if he will persist in the style he is in.

I think Ozil will just be a German cesc in Wenger's eyes , he can pass ...cross..( maybe shoot)

only difference is physique, cesc was a Monster in EPL ( sucha shame he is now rubbish In Barcelona)

Actually... Wenger could play him at RAM, push Walcott up top, drop Giroud, and continue to play Rosicky behind the striker. It won't/shouldn't happen, but it does sound like something that Wenger would do.

I can't say Ozil is a bad signing, because a player of his class will improve almost any team. However, I'm not sure he's the most prudent signing for Arsenal in this window. For example, why do they need an attacking midfielder? They already have three players capable of playing the position to good effect (Cazorla, Wilshere, and Rosicky). What they could really use is a LW (to cover GOALdolski), a proper DM (which Cabaye is not), and a CB. Any of the three would immediately help the squad. Buying another CAM only complicates the selection and leaves the same deficiencies.

Sure, Cazorla is the sexy signing that will appease the supporters, but he may not be the signing that they need the most. Moreover, is the upgrade from Cazorla to Ozil really worth the 30mil up-charge? If they were looking to blow 40mil, there are better options at positions of need. If they were willing to spend that much, why didn't they close the signing of Higuain? IMO, this move wreaks of panic-buying.

a german cesc? no, the way they understand football is completely different. Ozil is all about speed, quickness, game in transition, constant movement. Cesc was a master a space like most spanish AMs, understood how to use space in between the lines better than ozil has ever shown. could control the tempo and worry about everyone getting touches while scoring and passing himself. Barca truly ruined him.

if Ozil os speed, quickness.. I would rather leave Cazorla in middle and play Ozil wide ( just like Nasri before he became a Bench),,

you need ozil/dimaria on the right to unlock defences we are going to look so clueless if bale ends up playing there

besides you dont pay 91 mill for a guy who will just be a feeder boy to two attackers. Bale will definitely play next to Ronaldo

Bale is going to play on the right... i was checking out his seasonal heat map last year and i was surprised to find out that 28% of the time he was on the right. 40% he was central and 32% left.

That's his spot at Madrid. It's pretty clear.

Last year, if CR7 wasn't on top form, we automatically drop points. This year, we are capable of winning games even when he's not at this best. That's a HUGE difference.

With Bale, the CR7 dependence becomes even less.

Have to agree. You can't depend on Benzema at all for anything. Hopefully Benzema is sold and Suarez replaces him. Pipe dream but would be amazing.
