Why do Arsenal always leave it until the last minute?

They will probably sign a few average players for 'world class' prices as the long summer transfer market fumble continues.

Why dont they have transfer targets identified towards the end of last season, then act in June/July?

I cant understand why they have not splashed the cash when it is obvious to everyone that they need players in key areas.

Why continue to buy mr.'average'? season after season, sure they bought Santi Cazorla who is a great player, but you never know with Wenger, he is also the man who went and got Andre Santos lol.

Does he have a actual clue or is it just pot luck?

At the end of last season/start of this season, Wenger felt the squad was good enough. With the fans getting anxious, he has to make those panic buys. If it was upto him, he wouldn't even have made those lol.

Some prices will come down. Clubs who have been holding out for over-valuated fees will cut the price when they see no one's buying the player with the original asking price. Especially talking about such clubs now to whom selling players is good business, who invest the fee in new young players, develop them etc.

I respect Wenger and Arsenal for not paying stupid amounts just because clubs know Arsenal have got money. Okay, fair enough, when they're in need of a couple of good players, maybe they should have done some business already, but in principle I think Arsenal are doing the right thing.

They shouldn't have came out and said they had 70m+ to spend this window and gloat about their finances if they didn't want to over pay for anyone...

The whole board is a joke. I'm just glad Liverpool might take advantage over what's going on with them.

Wenger will eventually get them a CL spot, though.

It's quite clearly lack of planning. As the Monaco chief said, not a coincidence that the clubs with technical directors were the first ones to close their squads, and arguably the most effective ones.

It has come to a point where Wenger believes his own lies.

We DO have a strong squad...........too bad half of it is always injured for the majourity of the season

Agreed injuries has really depleted our squad.
