Napoli are going after Matri

Well, i've seen it from various sources now. Apparantly the fee is 12M euros


Meanwhile Juan zuniga has came out slamming reports that have 'fabricated quotes saying that I would reject Juventus for Napoli'

In other words, he very much wants to come to Juventus.


Obviously if we were willing to sell Matri, Napoli would be willing to sell zuniga. Otherwise they'd probably get a rejection themselves.


Asamoah is just not cutting it on the left. We destroyed Lazio but Asa was pretty much losing his battle on the left whilst Licht was dominating the match. Even up against the highly talented Lulic.


We NEED a left wing back/left mid. And zuniga is a very handy player in my own opinion.

Agreed. Asa is losing it. He is becoming more predictable in the left wing

It's worrying when you're in a team that's dominating but you're still coming up 2nd best on your flank

I'm inclined to think his first outstanding 6 months was just good form.

And his level now is much more true to his abilities. A very good player, decent on the flank but not what we need as a starter.

Big improvement for our team.

I wouldn't say that's a big improvement Tom. Maybe changing a 7.5 for an 8, along those lines. Asamoah can be deadly. Asamoah is also 3 years younger and the team is already invested in him.

I think and hope Asamoah will be fine this season.

I see it as a big improvement because not only do we improve at LWB, we also have a player who is equally effective at RWB (Plays there for his country, also right footed) and frees up Asamoah to be used as midfield depth ahead of the likes of Marrone and Padoin. And Isla has yet to impress me one bit as a viable Licht back-up.

In terms of player for player nah it's not a big improvement. But still an improvement.

But the fact we get a better Licht replacement (When he's injured/suspended. Not as an actual replacement of course) and Asa can revert back to his CM position i'd say it's a fairly big improvement.


However, with zuniga being unhappy and nearly out of contract, it'd have to be a cash + player deal from Napoli. Not a straight swap.

Also, MVP is so important to us, and if we want to have a legit go at the CL we need to keep them rested.


We had to play our entire 1st team Vs Inter whereas Bayern got to rest about 9 of their first XI before facing us. That's a huge advantage


So Asa as CM depth would be great. A midfield of 1 of MVP + Asamoah + Pogba would be fine for Serie A encounters.


Also, if zuniga did become the 2nd choice RWB here's a list of ways that Asamoah would get into the team.



If zuniga is directly injured, rested, suspended. There's a few games there.

If Licht is Injured, Rested, Suspended and zuniga replaces him. Another few games for Asa

And finally, if 2 of MVP are not playing for whatever reason, he and Pogba could replace them.

So he'd also be getting a fair amount of game time. With the emphasis on getting a squad good enough to frequently rotate.

asamoah can be depth cm and lwb. i wouldnt mind a midfield with asamoah pogba and marrone

Di Marzio's saying Duvan Zapata is close to joining Napoli and he could be Higuain's backup.

Seems like they've given up on Matri.We wont get that 12m anywhere else.
