Matri: Napoli or Liverpool?

It’s reported Alessandro Matri held a summit with Juventus directors and Coach Antonio Conte, as he has offers from Napoli and Liverpool.

The striker is on the market along with Fabio Quagliarella and has been given a €12m price-tag (approximately £10.5m).

According to Sport Mediaset, Matri met with directors Beppe Marotta, Fabio Paratici and Coach Conte to discuss his future.

The summit took place at the Villar Perosa training ground after the traditional game against the Juventus Primavera youth team.

Over the last 24 hours it has been reported that both Napoli and Liverpool have matched the €12m asking price, so now Matri must decide which club to accept.

Whatever the outcome, it is believed Matri has played his last match in a Juventus jersey.

Matri not short of options


Alessandro Matri has a number of offers on the table from clubs in Italy and abroad, the Juventus striker’s agent has stated.

The forward could be sold by the Old Lady after they brought in Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente during the month of July.

“I can’t exclude the possibility that Alessandro will leave Juventus during this transfer session,” representative Tullio Tinti told Izvestia.

“There is strong interest in him from Russian clubs, but we also have a number of options in order to continue his career in Italy.”

The almost 29-year-old, signed in January 2011 from Cagliari, is understood to be of interest to Napoli, Milan and Lazio on the peninsula.

The Italian has also been linked with Premiership clubs Liverpool and Everton.

Yeah, I don't need another season of Matri. His value will go down because of his age and he will see much less playing time this season because of the depth in front of him. He needs to be sold now.

I'm only surprised to see that Juve received an offer for Matri higher than 10m. I'd sell him without thinking twice. His last two seasons with Juve have been mediocre, and he's 29 already. 12m would be a great deal for Juve.
