Okay so.

Taylor Kitsch is gay.

Vince Vaughn abused as a child.

Rachel McAdams was also abused as child and is a f'ed up sex addict

and Colin Farrell got rekt with rubber bullets.

R.i.p to all these characters Proud

Also Farrell.

My early suspicion is the Russian (I think) business man Osip. We don't exactly know much about Frank Semyon and Osip's past but he's surely a big candidate, for some reason he must've killed the city manager who held Frank's money which was going on the project.

the thing is with series like this and a WHODUNIT theme is that when you have seemingly peripheral characters played by relatively prolific/well known actors..you know it'll end up with them being involved pretty deeply, which is the case with this Osip guy. Although, True Detective did have the church preacher who was realtively irrelevant and a pretty well known actor.

anyway, this weeks episode True Detective || HBO - Page 21 Wtf, Farrell was shot with a shotgun and there was no blood anywhere so yeah, he's obviously not dead and they were rubber pellets, this guy that killed Casper (Caspere?) is someone that's trying to expose something IMO (mostly taken from the intro lyrics) so it makes sense he wouldn't indiscriminately go around killing people. I also don't think the killing of Caspere had anything to do with trying to screw Vince Vaughn's character, I think it'll end up that Caspere was doing that on the side or something.

Female detective and motorcycle guy aren't doing much for me right now, I'm just not all that interested in their solo scenes and private lives

Farrell and Vince Vaughn are doing a good job though

Though it was already, like, explicitly stated that Farrell was looking to go straight, I think this will prove to be like a symbolic death of the old Velcoro. Farrell with the face turn. Proud

although compared to True Detective season 1 dealing with light and dark being opposing forces I kinda prefer grey characters like him

Not sure if GOT or True Detective.

Liked this episode. I was sure that Ray got killed until I too remembered a scene from the trailers with Ray which has not been shown yet like Freeza. It seems a dumb cop out to have rubber bullets but that's the only possible way I can see Ray surviving.

So Paul is gay and I'm guessing was sexually abused by his mother too? There was some sort of incest between them in the past definitely. Frank was abused by his father and Antigone is a sex addict after a failed marriage. Let's not forget Ray's wife getting raped and giving birth. Holy moly the issues level is off the charts.

And there was some interesting artwork on the therapist's office.

I like the whole main characters with dark backgrounds who cross the line between bad and good type deal, but does every single main character have to be psychologically f*cked to insane levels? Laughing

And no way is Mr. Moustache dead. You don't try and carry on from a GOAT season 1 with 2 fantastic main characters by killing such a big actor in the 2nd *bleep* episode. Well I hope not any way.

I really like the opening theme, especially with subtitles on.

Do Vinci have Red Priests? Really don't think that Velcoro is dead and that sucks tbh. I like the character but I despise these fake deaths.

The episode confirms that Chad is not Ray Velcoro's son which was well hinted in the first episode anyway.

Also I'm noticing some links here: the missing girl was last seen in Sonoma and Ani's dad community or whatever that is was located there aswell, mentioned twice in the episode. I'm trying to connect things but maybe this is just a red herring.

Not really A fake death. If it was real bullets he'd been split in half. No idea why anyone assumed him to be dead tbh.

Are you serious? Everyone assumed that because that's how it looked like, shot twice with a shotgun, once in close range. If this wasn't a TV show he'd be dead.

What was it that made it obvious that those were not real bullets? Pretty sure that's how they explain his reappearance but I'm not buying it.

What made it obvious despite the lack of blood and damage? A real shots would have destroyed him totally.
What about watching next episode to get some actuo reason. Maybe the murderer wants him alive. People can survive a lot. You can bleed for days with gunshot wounds.

Good episode.

To make people think someone is dead all you need is a gun shot about 5 metres away and then one again with the shooter standing on top of the victim. Doesn't seem that far fetched so pls. And it's HBO of course, lol.

But yeah, in hindsight there wasn't really blood so that makes sense that it was only rubbers and that the bird guy wants Velcoro alive for some reason.

If you choose to shoot someone in the stomach, when they're lying on the ground, to kill them. Chances are you're a retard.

Yeah, nobody does that. It makes perfect sense that after unloading the first rubber bullet shot, to go up to them and put a round straight in to their gut to incapacitate them without doing fatal damage. This is surely what happened.

No way they will kill the only interesting character. Like everyone said, he was wearing a vest for sure and the shooter seemed more interested in sending a message than to actually kill him.

Struggled to watch the episode tbh. I don't think McAdams is suited to that role. Her acting is so poor and stiff. I don't know if she is meant to come across so fake while trying to act hard but she is doing a terrible job either way. Can't get into her story.

The last cop has prime kristen stewart expressions most of the time. Maybe that's suppose to be his character. But he is the ultimate cliche of "look at me, I am so dark"

Collin Ferrel once again on top of the episode

It's only the 2nd episode so obviously it will improve. But having so many arcs in an 8 episode season wasn't the best of ideas.

Just my opinion though.

Think Collin and Vince will have to carry this big time. The other 2 are kinda boring so far.

The woman's background is *bleep* up in a meh kinda way, she doesn't interest me. Doesn't seem to have chemistry with others.

The guy, more of a comedic relief at this point for me Laughing

Getting felt up by his mum Laughing
Can't get it up Laughing

Then repressed homosexuality bursting out of him, saying he nearly punched a *bleep* at the bank or something along those lines, then a couple scenes later he was ogling those gay pride people.

He's just a mess, without the eccentric sort of personality you need to get away with it.

Thankfully I missed or ignored the part where he got felt up by his mum Laughing wtf Laughing That scene was as awkward as they get in the first place

She was giving mad uncomfortable aura. Thought that guy was cheating on his gf with this rooney-friendly hooker but turns out it was his mum ffs.

No doubt he will play hero at the end though. It just feels that way.

Case is interesting if what Ferrell said was true about people not wanting it to work. Wonder if they are going try the authority vs faces storyline eventually. Just like in S1 where people at higher places were the obstacle.

The only struggle I had on this episode was the opening scene. Man if I was not watching on TV I would probably have fast forward it. I don't blame Vince Vaughn at all for that, his delivery was fine but the writing was poor. "That's when the rats came" sounds like something Cartman would say. Vince Vaughn was amazing when he threatened that guy later
