Looking To Buy A New Phone

I sold my iPhone 4 and I am looking to buy a new phone (not iPhone). I don't know much about phones, so what are the best phones currently on the market and why? Thanks.

whats your budget? does the location you live in sell phones on contract or off?

the best android phones atm are Galaxy S4, HTC one and Moto X (about to come out)

all the phones nowdays are 4.5-5+ inch...your i4 is 3.5 so there will be a big diff

most 4 inch phones are mid range or the iphone 5

if money is an issue as those phones cost $500+ then get the Nexus 4 or wait until Moto X Google play edition price is released, Nexus 4 is $300 off contract on Google play store

your only choice is between Android and Windows Os if you don't want Iphone. and in my opinion Android is alot better then Windows

Money is not an issue. Which phone is better between the s4 and htc one in your opinion?

Both are good, one is Plastic and the other is Metal...

In my Opinoin HTC One is better due to the looks

There are two typesof S4 and One, one with their Sammy and HTC's android skins and the other sold on google Play Store without any of the skinning and apps

it also depends on you, if you want to learn to root and install your own roms (custom android version) then i would go with Play store ones, otherwise stick to the normal one

btw a newer fast and bigger battery version of HTC one called HTC ONE Max is coming out soon, so if you can wait, do it

A close friend recently ditched the iphone 4s for the GS3 and he loves his new phone.

I've only had it for a few hours now, but so far it's giving a really good first impression.

once you get used to it the next step would be to learn rooting and custom roms (if your interested).... they grately improve the speeds and gives you more options

my contract runs out in october for my HTC One X

def getting the HTC One or the One Max

will see what the new iPhone looks like in september but likely same old crap lol and will stick with android

def not a fan of Samsung, there design is so meh and plastic makes it feel cheap and touchwiz is boring

I want to get the best phone out there but the S4 and the HTC one are way to big for me. Feels awkward. Are the mini version of the phones watered down? Or do they keep most of the features?

mini version's have less impressive hardware specs, but software contains same features.

if your looking for something a bit smaller in hand then the GS4 and HTC One i would say go for the new Moto X

it has the same 4.7 inch screen but the actual physical size is a bit smaller, and it runs good specs and vanilla android (un-skinned android) which is a bonus when it comes to receiving latest android updates fast

The x looks good too. Its that or the HTC one mini but I might wait to see what apple does.

Apple will release the same bland crap, just with iOS 7 and there re-styled app icons lol I wouldn't expect to be wow'd by Apple it will likely be a iPhone 5s with no "revolutionary" features or features that are already available on Android devices, but they will charge you a premium still for catch up software improvements

Apple is probably gonna release a Plastic cheaper version of the Iphone with different colors

ya i have seen leaked images of what claim to be the plastic shells for these lower end iPhones...i think we will see a 5s release and these cheap iPhones

Should I wait for the Nexus 5? Heard it's going to be out this year and priced around the same as the 4. The 4 is at the top of my list at the moment, but if I buy it and the 5 comes out and is better/not much more expensive I'll feel like an idiot.
