Bonaventura wants Juve switch
Giacomo Bonaventura wants to try and force a move from Atalanta to Juventus, according to reports.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the Bianconeri this summer, and L’Eco di Bergamo believe that his agent will meet with the hierarchy at La Dea to push through a transfer.
Stefano Colantuono's men have so far been reticent to sell their star asset, but the Italy international is desperate to make the upgrade to the champions.
Bonaventura played 35 times for Atalanta last term, scoring seven times..

I'm all for it. Sell Matri and/or Quag and get this talent. Marotta did say he will invest on some youth...
Boakye or Bona? I see that Bona has MUCH more experience in Serie A than Boakye. Can he be our new jackerini?

isn't he a CM or something? don't know much about this guy to judge him but I'd think he is a Pirlo back up or something....salmano9 wrote:I'm all for it. Sell Matri and/or Quag and get this talent. Marotta did say he will invest on some youth...

Yep he is an Attacking Midfielder, just like Sneijder. But the problem is where will he fit in Juve. The last time we used a trequartista was with Diego.

In 4-3-3? Meh... I dont see him as that type of player. He is more of an attacking player rather than a defensive one like pirloDeviAngel wrote:salmano9 wrote:Yep he is an Attacking Midfielder, just like Sneijder. Re: Bonaventura wants Juve switch
Yep, I heard about the 4-2-3-1... He would be perfect in the trequartista positon with Vuci in the left wing, Carlito on the right and Gio-Llorente up front.. But I see that Carlito's talent will be wasted if we deploy him in the right wing. If we switch his and Gio's position, I don't think that Gio will do well in the RW position

The really strong 4-2-3-1 I can come up to with the best selection I can make ....

LOL hahahahah... I'm stupid! I thought 4-2-3-1 will have 2 forwards lol...
I'm used to my FM 13 formation with 3-2-3-2 lol
That formation is perfect Devi, but the only problem here is that we are using all our forwards. If one gets injured, there will be no back ups (Matri/Quag or both).
We could use Asamoah in the Giovinco position as well

Re: Bonaventura wants Juve switch
Pepe could slot in to the Right AM position
Vidal could play as the CAM, with Pogba in his place
And Giovinco can rotate onto the left too.

Bona would be a good back up for the CAM position, and if need be, Tevez could fill Llorentes spot.

He is more of a wide AM if you can call it.He played wide left for Atalanta.Would be a good option for 4-3-3 if we use it.Would fit 3-5-2 too.

I'd like to see a holding midfielder/DM in there.Which means Pogba has to be in the lineup with Marchisio going on the bench,if we're talking hypothetically.

Re: Bonaventura wants Juve switch
Either way, we DO need a back up formation if it becomes obvious during the course of a match that they've set up to completely cancel out our 3-5-2.
I think we could pull of a great 4-2-3-1. Also, it'd be better against the likes of Bayern who have world class wingers and full backs. Because our wing back vs two top wide men was a nightmare in the CL.
The CB's had to come out and lend a hand which left so many gaps through the middle.
A 4-3-3 would also help. Basically anything with two on each flank.

Not with your 4-2-3-1, in my opinion. It's far too offensive minded and it leaves Pirlo out of the line up, Juventus' most potent player.
4-3-3 seems suitable, you get to add in another forward without sacrificing the midfield and a 4 man defense could provide more stability in some situations

Re: Bonaventura wants Juve switch
I'd have Pirlo in my starting line up, but as an alternative, i'd probably bench him in favour of more physicality.
I definitely wouldn't put him in a 2 man midfield, a 4-3-3 could be fine. But I'm not sure taking the man who would seemingly be our best attacker in Tevez, and shoving him out wide (It would need to be wide, otherwise we'd be changing formation but still having the same problem with just 1 man covering the flank) would be a good call.
In any case, a solid alternative formation is needed. Like any tactic, people get wise to it and do a much better job against it. So having no real plan 'B' left us for dead in Europe (I wasn't expecting a win, but a decent performance would have been nice)
and will leave us looking flat at times next year, but i'm confident we'll have a back up.

Re: Bonaventura wants Juve switch
While I'm an advocate of not locking into the notion that Pirlo must be on the field I'm just unsure of formations which not only leave him out but leave him obsolete- as I agree him in a two man midfield is far from ideal.
Tevez on the left or right of a 4-3-3 doesn't necessarily mean he's a winger, in my mind he would operate off the striker regardless- it's the extra forward (Giovinco, Pepe, Vucinic etc.) which would make the difference in the formation, give both forwards another option, help with pressing high up the field etc.
Other than that, I agree. Tactical flexibility was great when Conte first arrived, half the season was spent with a 4-3-3, half with the 3-5-2 (not literally but you get the idea), in Conte's second season he found his comfort zone in the 3-5-2 (probably because of all the wingbacks he added, along with other factors like strengthening the formation) and it ended up working against the team when a change was needed in the Champions League, there weren't viable options explored or executed.

Re: Bonaventura wants Juve switch
actually 4-2-3-1 can be very defensive minded after all we are talking about 4-5-1 its all in the mentality of the team.
in attack we can have our fullbacks hug the touchline which will double the threat wtih our fullbacks running behind the wingers creating 2 extra man in attack, and in defense our wingers will be wingbacks and our fullbacks go back to RB,LB.
in attack ( the movement )
