Video games= Harmless outlet? Hunting

Do video games represent a 'harmless outlet' and how might society be different without them? Often it is argued that video games cause violence, is it possible that they in fact contribute towards a more stable society by allowing people to experience thrills that would otherwise endanger human life?

I hate it when people blame games/movies for violence

No sane person tries to re-create what they do in a game or see in a movie, it's such a poor excuse for the mentally unstable.

As for your point, perhaps it does. If you removed games/movies/t.v from society it would definitely be different.

Games don't cause violence, people do.

Jazz caused violence, sexual deviance and corrupted youth. 90 years ago. People will always find something else to blame than their poor raising of children, criticising someone's parenting is for some reason taboo.
