when Rooney is off form, he is so bad, it's unreal. He looks like he's nbever played football before

Bayern are nothing special, not as strong as last season. We fcking had them. Shot ourselves massively on the foot.
To concede 20 secs after scoring is just
Players were already thinking of the semis. fcksake.

Gutted. Wish we can say 'we'll be back next year'. sigh:(
Our players gave it their all, bar Rooney who was diabolical.
Kagawa was great and proved he has a future at the club.
If only we hung on for a little while longer after taking the lead, gained our composure, we could have seen it through.
ah well

Moyes not taking off Rooney showed how much balls he has.
Our season is over.

He was the worse player on the pitch, and poor Welbeck who was 10x better today, was the fall guy for him. coward. If SAF was in charge, or any other manager with a set of cojones, I'd bet my mortgage Rooney would have been subbed off.

rooney, evra.
we could have really won this game. its hurting like hell when thinking about that.
k anyway 2-4. hmm..
lets talk positives. kagawa the only player who looked confident and in control. Hope it will grow and hope he will get 1st team chances from now onwards at least. it surely is a slight upward curve. hope moys wont mess it up yet again.

Evra is the complete piece of shit, was caught asleep on 2 goals, the first goal lost track of mandzukic, like he has done so many times this season been caught ball watching....then doesn't press on robben on the 2nd goal leaves about 5 yards of space between them and just stands there.

Wont excuse how pathetic he was today. For our main talisman, he just doesn't do it enough at the big stage.

Ronaldo was the same while he was here at Utd tbh. Rooney was injured, I blame Moyes.

Maybe I'm being too harsh on Rooney, but I'm bitterly dissappointed in him tonight. Wildly scoffed two great opportunities for us, and had a bad touch all night. He is our main man, but when he is off form, it's incredible just how bad he is. Can't pass, can't shoot, can't control. It's weird and frustrating.

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Uefa Champions League Thread
We all knew he was strategically inept -- a trait exposed again today -- but I wasn't aware he was quite so gutless. He left Rooney on for the whole game today, despite Wayne having his typically awful performance in a big match. He even shifted him into midfield, so desperate was he to keep him on. Pathetic. Out of every single thing he's done wrong this season (and there are a lot to pick from) his single greatest mistake was bending over for Rooney and giving in to his every demand.Hernandez for Fletcher wasn't smart, he looked at loss as to what to do yet again. He shit's it in big moments. Can't help but feel this tie flattered Moyes because it allowed him to revert to type. Plucky underdog, well organised (well until we scored), come close but don't quite do it, sounds like Moyes at Everton.

Rooney performance has been completely covered by the highs and lows of Evra for me.....scores amazing goal....20 seconds later still celebrating that goal and get's caught ball watching
like ffs he has been AWFUL ALL BLOODY SEASON, like i'm 100% sure he has been responsible for almost 50% of all goals conceded this season that's how bad he's been

I can't believe we've spent £70 mil and our team is worse than the end of last season. How is that possible? It must be like some amazing achievement or something.

Evra is an abomination, I'm sorry. I love the guy because he clearly loves the club and has passion for it, but he is a massive liability, and has been for years. Majority of our goals conceded comes from him.
I shat myself when I saw his name on the team sheet today, and I was prove correct, as I'm sure many felt the same way I did too.
Fair play for scoring that cracker of a goal, but kinell, remember that there is still some defending to do

to be fair, 27 million of that was essentially just thrown in a pile had gasoline poured on it and burned....not sure we actually bought anything with it

I'd rather we did that with the £27 mil than buy Fellaini. Seriously we could have bought a world class CM and LB with that money. Shocking stuff. We can't even string passes together. Highlight of our season is a 1-1 draw and a 3-1 loss. Moyesiah

Feels pretty awful. Those saying we'll be back after one season are basing that on nothing but hope, we have a ton of work to do to improve. We were miles behind our opposition in both legs, worse than them in almost every position on the pitch. Ok they're the best side in Europe but we would have had the same problem against any of the other giants. Until we can stand shoulder to shoulder with other top teams, keep proper possession and show some ambition and quality, we won't be back where we were.

MU Fans will create now a "Wayne Rooney out! Thread". Last summer everybody here wanted Rooney to leave us, then everybody was happy because he chose to stay. Now what? ...

No one is saying Rooney should be sold, we have all accepted he is Moyes' golden boy. He should have been subbed though.

It would make no difference if we were in the bottom half, we'd still be out of the CL spots

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Uefa Champions League Thread
Rooney should never have played a full 90 mins , the Lad is injured and was way off the pace .. also 300 k a week cant be good for the club long term , just means we will have huge player wages in future ... hey Rooney got 300k a week so why not our next big signing ? Moyes this season has killed us , You'd expect the target was top 4 and a decent cup run, at least. Granted, we haven't faired overly well in the CL the previous two seasons but the quarters still isn't good enough in my opinion. Getting to the Semis of the League Cup and then losing to Sunderland, who are practically dead certs for relegation, doesn't count either. On the one hand I think Moyes has probably had enough time and that he should go, but on the other I see it as a situation he has sort of got himself into and I think the test for whether he can make it and take himself to the next level is for him to get himself out of the rut he's currently in. I'm unsure he's capable of it, and am very worried what effect him being given this time is going to have on the future of Manchester United ...
