after all the transfers purchase, at the moment i think the strongest in Europe are (in order of strength):

1. Bayern Munich (GER)
2. Barcelona (SPAIN) -- Neymar is there, yeah!
3. Chelsea (ENG) -- Mourinho the skilful manager is their invisible 12th player
4. Real Madrid (SPAIN)
5. Juventus (ITA) -- got in a lot of good players
6. Man City (ENG) -- got a few world class strikers recently

Pls give your input, thanks.

(by the way, I'm a Newcastle fan, I've no bias towards any of the teams above)

City have made the best signings thus far imo. Great manager in with Pellegrini, and they've signed the likes of Jovetic, Navas and Fernandinho. I don't rate Negredo at all... but watch him score against Liverpool now. They'll probably win the league. They'll definitely get out of the group stages now, but they'll be lucky to get passed the semi's in Europe.

Dortmund and Bayern are still the very best. They were already the best teams in the world and all their signings this summer have been smart. You can argue they've improved the team even further. They're slowly making a gap in quality between the other teams across Europe.

Chelsea have a young list and a lot of talent. They'll definitely fight domestically, not so much in Europe though I don't think. It'd be interesting to see how the likes of KVB, Oscar, Hazard and co play under Mourinho. Think they're the team to overtake United in England.

Madrid are just Madrid. They got Carlo in now, so they won't win the league unless he's there for 6 years or so. They'll potentially get to the final in the CL but they won't win it.

Barcelona have a crap defence but a deadly attack. Midfield look's solid enough even if Xavi is a pensioner now. They desperately need to fix their defence if they want to go far in Europe, but I don't now who they just appointed manager wise, but I don't think he has European knowledge. Players will definitely have to carry him.

Juventus did well I feel. Tevez and Llorente will improve them, but don't think those 2 are the way to go if they want the CL.

Napoli will be an interesting team to watch. Just recruited Benitez, one of the best tactical managers in the world, and have made 6 signings or so with the Cavani money. They still have money to spend, hopefully they can fix their midfield a little more. They're not the best though, but feel they'll surprise a few in Europe.

United have regressed with Fergie retiring. Don't think they've made any signings. Their era is about to end. Moyes. Proud

EDIT: Welcome to the forum. There are 2 other Newcastle fans around if you weren't aware. Aford and Mole (Great Leader Spruce)

3A. BVB
3B. Madrid-- Could switch with Barca if Bale arrives.
4. Juventus
5. Man City-- Yaya + Fernandinho

I can't understand why City signed Negredo though. And they let go Tevez and Ballotelli who are better players. Difficult to understand IMO.

Also, how did they manage to get Jovetic for the same price as Negredo or much cheaper than Fernandinho? Are Fiorentina idiots for being the only ones not to milk City?

Mancini sold Balotelli 'cause he's not as good as everyone makes to be. Most overrated coach the world has seen. Tried to put all the blame on Mario.

Tevez was sold because he was on 220k a week. Negredo signing makes no sense with that said, considering they already had a better player in Dzeko. Txizi stuffed up there or Pellegrini wants to play 2 strikers. Still don't know why they went for Negredo though. But watch Luis Suarez get a ban for saying his name now, if he doesn't go to Madrid I mean. Sad

Jovetic went for cheap because he was forced out. Jovetic went for 22m; not 27. Unless you're talking Euros.

Would last seasons results need to be taken into account in order to determine who's better?

Because teams have new managers and they change a lot of things, like the style of play for example.

Yes they do. That is why no one takes your club seriously anymore after the constant hyping up season after season yet no end result.

Klopp has stayed at Dortmund and he's strengthened his side.

Are you really telling me Carlo comes in and you're automatically better? You haven't even played an official game with him yet. Settle down ffs.

Not saying we're automatically better, but we're most likely not going to be the side we were under Mourinho. That's why last seasons results/performances can't be taken into account.

I think a good manager(Klopp for example) could make a top3 team out of those players, don't know how Mourinho will do.

Don't get how a Bayern fan puts them on the same level as Barca.

Should be:

1.Bayern
2.Dortmund/Barca
3.Madrid/United/Juventus

Possibly PSG,City,Chelsea in there somewhere, too hard to decide right now. But I'm just basing that off what they look like on paper. In reality they might not be that good. There could be a team that could surprise some people and show they are up their with the best. Like a Arsenal, Napoli, Milan, Schalke or Atletico

Have some respect lol. He's the reason Madrid is even considered one of the better teams in Europe... where were you before Jose. And no you're not better. Carlo is not that good.

Dortmun are way overrated and this is what happens when you go far in the CL - a lucky competition to start with. A year ago they were last in a group of Arsenal, Marseille and Olympiacos, for crying out loud. They reffed their way to this year's SF's anyway. Watch them fail miserably this season.

Having said that, I'd rate the teams:
Bayern
Barcelona, Real Madrid, City
United, Chelsea, Dortmund
Juventus, Arsenal, PSG

And I actually think that our team is weaker without Mourinho, Carlo is just sweat-talking people to believing he'll actually win something. It will be a miracle he even makes it 3 years.

That's what happens when you outplay Real Madrid 3 times in a row and embarrass them 4-1. Dortmund are the closest to Bayern at the moment.

Dortmund way overrated? Still so butthurt? Dortmund played Real off the pitch three times of four, and in the fourth match they still weathered the storm to proceed. And this is about the present, not where Dortmund ended in 2011/12 in the CL.

You versed Dortmund 4 times last year. You beat them once out of four. That's not luck. That's just them being more superior.

Also, how can you suggest Real Madrid is better than Dortmund NOW when you state Mourinho is better than Carlo who lost to him 4 times. (Which he is.)

Bayern and Dortmund are the best teams in Europe.
Barcelona is next.
And then all of Madrid, Juventus, United etc are in the next tier.

Yp, way overrated, problem reading?

The present is 2013/14, where Dortmund have no Goetze, have an angry Lewandowski and probably won't have as much luck on their side to get through by ridiculous ref decisions. So, yeah, bookmark this and save it for 2014.

And by the way, RM vs Dortmund scores doesn't equal who is better. We won against Barca more often than not last year, were we better? They won the league, by the way. So, please, get it through your thick skulls that a team that finishes 25 points off the first spot in Bundesliga can't be the 2nd best team in the world. CL is a lucky competition and it always was, but go ahead and judge everything by it, you'll be in for a surprise every year.

As for RM, we'll replace Higuain with someone better and that will tip the scales in our favour, just as Barcelona will finally find a CB. Dortmund? They are done for the year.
