Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
It's pretty obvious that Kagawa won't become like Silva or Mata, out wide. Both players started out as wingers in their younger ages, and Kagawa started out as an attacking midfielder at a younger age. This is definitely one of the reasons why he's not good at beating his marker and not good at dribbling past players. For this reason, he will be more system-dependent than anyone else because he doesn't have the experience playing different roles that Silva, Mata, Januzaj, Rosicky, Cazorla, etc. have.
At this point, it's best for him to play centrally as Moyes likes to overload the wide channels rather than play through the middle. Playing behind the striker like how Osman did for Moyes will be best for Kagawa, at this stage , with Rooney or RVP .

It looks good on paper BB , however im not sure Moyes would go for it .. I think Kagawa , maybe will continue to be used in a wider role , so we may not get to see the best of him at United , which is a shame .

Yeah, I agree it's a shame. Hopefully in the near future we see Mata at the least play in his favoured role. I think we'll still miss Kagawa's short passing and movement, Mata's qualities lay elsewhere so hopefully we can get a CM that can control the tempo for us behind Mata.

De Gea deserves credit today, also. He's been our most consistent player this season.

kagawa behind rooney, mata left and both of them shifting positions, when one gets the ball the other moving to the other's position. cutting inside often, that can work very very well in fact especially with the flamboyance and intelligence of the two.

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
but mata too is wasted out wide. He too is not a good winger. Remember the CP game. was it that CP game it was before today. ?
yea anyway in that game, he was invisible out on the far right. its only when he began to cut inside neglecting the fkd up tactic and instruction given by moyes and run through middle he became a beast. So mata on the wing. Its going to be somewhat same result as in the case of kagawa.
Will have to entirely eliminate the wing play and start using an alternate philosophy moyes, if he want to derive the best out of mata, kagawa and even jaunzuaj to some extent that provided he keeps hold of rvp which is most likely the way it is going to be.
if rvp is sold, then fine, mata as the no.10 and wing play wont be such a bad idea (that again provided we attain some good wingers, not with the shits we currently have)

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
yeah, but Mata and Kagawa interchanging with the full-backs providing the width.
From The Telegraph
From The Telegraph
He also injected charisma and belief into a team and club whose morale had been crushed by Manchester City’s 2011-12 title success.
But as Ferguson proved repeatedly by dispensing with the likes of Paul Ince, Mark Hughes, David Beckham, Roy Keane and Ruud van Nistelrooy, there comes a time when a change has to be made and, just 18 months into his United career, that moment may have arrived for Van Persie.
The similarities between Van Persie and Van Nistelrooy are striking and do not stop merely with their shared Dutch roots.
Van Persie’s arm-waving dissatisfaction with his team-mates was straight out of the Van Nistelrooy text book for a start.
Van Nistelrooy was even more prolific than Van Persie, scoring 150 goals in 219 appearances, but United became over-reliant on the striker and predictable in their approach.
With Van Persie, United suffer the same problem and his lack of pace and mobility make Moyes’s team pedestrian and lacking the variety required to break down even the most limited opponents.

Moyes on Kagawa: "We have competition for places with Adnan and Mata, but Shinji will play a lot more from now until the end of the season."
I hope this is true

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
I think having Rafael back is such a bonus when it comes to Mata playing out wide. Mata drifts to middle anyways, so having a proper RB gives us a proper attacking outlet on the right hand side.
I wouldn't trust this tactic against the top sides, but against the smaller clubs, it could be quite effective...as we've seen today.

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Yeah, I agree. It becomes a problem against the bigger teams.
That's when Moyes takes out Januzaj, like he did against Arsenal, but not for Valencia he can bring in Nani (who's finally back in training ) to bring in the width and he's better defensively than Young. Valencia's defensive capabilities are overrated too, he's no Willian/Di Maria. Kagawa is not bad defensively either. Mata is a weird one, it's not like he's lazy, he gets a decent number of interceptions. Although, when he tracks back he stands around our box instead of doubling up with Rafael and/or tracking the opposing LB's run. Mata, it not one to complain, I'm sure if someone gives him a word he'll change it. Unless, Moyes is asking him switch with someone else.

It is Moyes, I guess It's weird, if he didn't see it (Kagawa's performances) after Swansea and Sunderland, I guess he'll never see it.

You know how Moyes might be resting Cleverley for the big games...
http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2014/Mar/danny-welbeck-and-tom-cleverley-have-key-roles-to-play-for-manchester-united.aspx
Cleverley was not involved in the 3-0 triumph on Saturday with the boss explaining the thinking behind the decision.
"I just felt he wasn't required today," he stated. "I wanted to make sure Darren Fletcher and Ryan Giggs were involved. We've got a lot of big games coming up and Tom will be involved in a lot of these in the coming weeks."

Unreal. Why can't he get through his head that Cleverley is sh*t? He's completely useless and offers nothing to the team.
He shouldn't be anywhere near the first team unless there' an injury crisis.

I'm predicting it right now, Van Gaal will turn Cleverley in to a top midfielder. Don't give up on the boy yet.

He's a good player, but he will never fit in how Moyes wants to play him, he's not a DM and if Moyes keeps insiting in playing him there he will carry on playing like shite. I agree though, if Van Gaal was his manager he would be performing better, Cleverley needs everyone else in the team to play well for him to play well.

Inter should try and bid for Nani aswell. Very good player imo, albeit frustratingly inconsistent.
Hope he atleast stays though.

yes infact Nani he is much apprecciated by Italian clubs. Inter,Milan,Juve ..the top 3 Italian clubs showed real interest about him. Our interest about him is a little cold now also because Mazzarri our coach is a taleban who plays only with 3-5-2 and in that setting he prefers fullback because they must do double-phase, also defending..Nani is a pure winger
While we are searching really a forward, Chicharito is very appreciated as player by Inter management and then our new president ,the Indonesian Thohir , did not hide the satisfaction to have bought Nemanja Vidic also because he is the captain of Manchester United and Manchester United players are extremely popular in Asia (good also for marketing )
Anyway I think Nani will stay another season to Manchester. I hope for you with another coach

Best Man Utd goals vs Liverpool, some are there just for the importance of the situation. I've probably missed out some obvious ones.
- Ryan Giggs '94:
- Berbatov's bicycle kick:
- Rio Ferdinand:
- Bryan Robson FA Cup '85:
- Eric Cantona FA Cup Final:
- Eric Cantona's return with a goal from Nicky Butt:
- Rafael:
- Solskjaer's winner FA Cup '99:

That's Solksjaer goal...Loved it!
This match is so important on Sunday, the thought of losing is just....
The team owe us a big performance against a 'top' team. This is the game that matters the most to us.
