Most of Mata's overall assists were padded against scrub teams in COC and FA Cup. He has around 20 assists in EPL though in two seasons.. fairly good I'd say.

12 asists in the prem. 22 in all competitions including confed cup. All according to whoscored.

13 in his first season and 12 in the last season..

Not surprised people praise an inefficient scrub like Suarez whose team somehow played better without him in the lineup.

Turns the ball over more than any player in the PL, one of the worst conversion rates in the World, scores when the team is playing well rather than when they need it the most emphasized by the fact Liverpool would still havent finished in a pathetic 7th even without his goals.

Leads a solid Liverpool team to 7th place finishes.

One of the most overrated players in recent memory. Not even a top 5 striker in the PL. I'd take Rooney, RVP, Dzeko, Aguero and Jovetic over him.

The rest is fair game. I think he's the 5th best player in the League atm.

Mata is one of the few players I'd actually consider in a cash plus player offer for Suarez. I've quite liked him as a player since he first really burst onto the international stage and had more than one heated debate with Sepi over his (now ridiculous looking) claims that Downing was the better (or even sane) buy when both were available that summer.

Last season Mata had the passing vision and the crosses with him. Don't forget that he had that confidence of a player who won UCL an year ago. That's important.

But when it comes about dribbling abilities and even shooting skills (not that Mata isn't good at shooting), Bale, Suarez, Aguero and Hazard seem to be better.Of course that those two attributes aren't completely relevant in this comparison.

Probably, Mata was somewhere at the same level with those 4. Chelsea finalized a lot of counter-attacks with Mata being the most important piece in their construction.

But in my opinion, Bale, Aguero, Suarez and Hazard are more talented than Mata.

Personally yeah.Think the Brazilian Prophet is more talented than him In a much more attacking system ,Hernanes will show his true class.
