Man City drop Osvaldo for Jovetic? Empty Man City drop Osvaldo for Jovetic?

Manchester City are reportedly ready to activate Stevan Jovetic’s €30m clause, so drop talks with Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.

The club had been in advanced negotiations with Roma for centre-forward Osvaldo, who would be available for around €15m.

However, just as a deal appeared to be close – and Osvaldo was absent from today’s pre-season training camp – City changed tack.

The Sun and several Italian papers claim the Citizens have turned their attention towards Fiorentina star Jovetic instead.

He has a €30m release clause on his contract and has made it clear he wants to leave this summer, but so far nobody has met the cash only demands.

Manchester City could suit Fiorentina, but it is also reported that Jovetic is determined to accept only Juventus, turning down any other proposals.

Juve have stated they won’t pay the full sum in cash, hoping to include Fabio Quagliarella and Luca Marrone in the deal.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in Jovetic, but the Montenegro international has his heart set on Turin.

As for Osvaldo, he has rejected a move to Southampton and could therefore join Roma’s pre-season training on Thursday if City talks are not revived.
