We did the same with Pardew it didn't make a blind bit of difference. ( there's probably more examples)

Ancelotti will do what he's always done, create teams who are dangerous on the counter and tactically excellent.

Even his fabled Milan team did not play the football you crave they were counter attack specialists.

Put it this way if Ancelotti suddenly changes what he's always done through out his career i would be shocked.

You will be the same Madrid you have been for last 5 years except maybe better tactically.

Where did this myth Ancelotti plays good (whatever the f**k that is anyway) football originate from by the way? He's always played counter attacking wherever he's been, he's another Mou.

Just a classier and more player friendly yet less successful version of him.

Madrid fans are a delusional bunch.

Di Maria, Arbeloa, Kaka, Alonso etc would all be content with a place on the bench for lesser players Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI - Page 6 Oblivious

Player unrest and power will die Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI - Page 6 Oblivious

We're gonna play like Brazil 1970 in a couple of months Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI - Page 6 Oblivious

A lineup with defensive liabilities like CR, Isco, Ozil and co would be stable and we wouldn't concede 5 every other game Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI - Page 6 Oblivious

Isco could play RW or DM it worked on FIFA! Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI - Page 6 Oblivious

He's more adaptive and more well rounded tactically IMO but other than that yeah they have a lot of similarities.

Carlo isn't as stubborn as Mou who shuts out the media when they critisize his style. Mou was fried because of his ugly football. he was booed by sections of the fans. Trust me Ancelotti will give in to demands and do as they want and perez has provided him with the players to make it possible

Ancelotti said in his press conference:

"I want a team that controls the play, that has a nice idea of attacking football, that has good balance. I don't think it will be difficult to play offensive football with lots of possession."

What is ugly football by the way? Isn't the goal of the game to put the ball in the back of the net?

Madrid broke La Liga goalscoring records didn't they?

Just because he doesn't want to bore the fans to death with pointless and excessive back passes and Rondo's doesn't mean it's "ugly".

Stop being a spoilt brat.

None is claiming Ancelotti has played good football, but rather he will try to do so in Madrid.

Since reading about how he adapts to the players in his disposal I don't think that's a crazy idea. It's not the same as Pardew becouse Ancelotti actually knows something about managing, while Pardew does not.

Relying on counter-attacks didn't work with Mourinho. Real Madrid just aren't a side made to rely on counter-attacks. It was clear to see our possession play was poor under Mourinho.

Kaka is not good enough to start and hasn't been for a long time. He's most likely going to be sold and he wants a place in the Brazil squad next year.

Di Maria isn't good enough to start either. If a good offer comes in he'll most likely be sold.

Arbeloa isn't good enough to start.

Alonso wants to leave next year anyway and is refusing an extension.

Isco played RW for Spain at times and he did fine.

You don't win trophies consistently by individual brilliance. Look at Barca now with the decline of most of their stars they are relying on Missi and it doesn't work. When they were at their peak they were the team to beat

last season we had trouble breaking park the bus teams because we are so used to inviting pressure and countering. besides our way of playing asked for more defensive work of players than any other player in other teams. It is just not ideal

Maybe will make you understand why we're buying the players we're buying. Carlo is trying to adapt as much as possible to the ideals of Madrid fans imo. That means, focus on youth, spanish players and attacking football. Maybe will make you understand the Illa signing more and also understand that we're most likely planning on playing attacking football with Carlo so Illa is a perfect fit for us

Oh cool, here I though you guys were just doing the usual going with what flavor is hot at the moment and doing your usual revamp (Brazilian flavor, Dutch flavor, German flavor, now Spanish flavor).

I for one would like to you guys open up and attack more. with the players you guys have it would be really nice to watch

Yes he has and he's never done it before so why start now? ridiculous expectations tbh.

Like saying if Guardiola went to Stoke he would start instructing his players to hoof.

He has never done of this so he's going to magically start now because he's in Madrid? ok.

If I was Carlo and the only new midfielder I'd be getting was Illa, I'd be pissed as hell. If anyone seriously expects him to play attractive football and win trophies when 5-6 of his starting line up can't defend for shit (or simply refuse to), while at the same time playing our Spanish youth talents, you've been mindfreaked.

This has all the makings of an absolute disaster and you'll see the Spanish media turning on Carlo as soon as first points are dropped. And with this completely unbalanced squad - I'd even call it defensively challenged - the honeymoon period will be over before the marriage is fully consummated, if you know what I mean. Colour me extremely unimpressed so far, although there is plenty of time for this to change.

The club have been looking for an Alonso replacement for some time.

Isco's played on the right for Spain and did fine.

He could also play in a 4-2-2-2.

---------Ronaldo---Benzema
     ---Isco-----------------Ozil
--------Modric-----Illarramendi

So you have two world class central attackers on your team to play them more on a wing type role? They are both strongest down the middle.  Also I would be shocked if Xabi is ok with this little plan of benching him

Alonso wants to leave next year. He's pretty much refusing to sign an extension.

Also Isco does fine out wide and in a 4-2-2-2 they would be roaming about in central positons, instead of just sticking out wide. Carvajal and Marcelo would be providing width.

I understad Xabi wants to leave, but isn't that the Casemiro purhcase was for?

Because he said it's part of Real Madrid's history and tradition to play offensive football.

He knows he can't play defensively, especially after what he saw happen to Mourinho. He knows he's at Real Madrid.

I feel they've overtaken Bayern and Barca with the Tevez/Llorente signings.

They have no weaknesses as it stands.

just need a plan b for Pirlo. He tends to get marked out easily in the big games so a second option would be an excellent luxury to have.
