Re: Summer Transfer Thread - II
Although in the unlikely circumstance that Mou was wanting our wingers to hold their width and play with a #10 Cesc could be that for us too, of course thats highly unlikely

We have KDB and even Oscar for that position. He'll not be leaving Barca anyway.

"But if the boss wants me to go out on loan I'll have to listen to him and go out. It's down to him."
"He said he would speak to me while we were in Asia so I'll wait for then."
"Hopefully it would be to a Premier League team, but I wouldn't mind going to a Championship team either."
He already killed it in the lower tiers at Boro, if he needs to go on lona again then it should be to a PL side

Matas only human, he cant cop another 70 game season and with Oscar playing plenty of minutes in the pivot, who else could play #10?
and thats not taking into account injuries either

KdB, Hazard if required. MVG can also play in advanced positions if required...

Re: Summer Transfer Thread - II
I don't get why you believe Oscar is ready for the pivot and also Cesc in the pivot is also really stupid imo.
Right now midfield we have who can play"pivot":
Mikel, Rambo, MVG, Lampard, Oscar (potentially although he only plays there when we are chasing for a goal). KDB and Nathan who looks to be heading on loan again.
#10
Mata, Hazard, Oscar and KDB can all play up there and MVG apparently (I haven't read much about that but going on what iszzy says).
I didn't include Josh or Piazon they clearly off on loan also.
Buying Cesc is really not needed, even if we have Hazard perm on the wings.

Chelsea hold all the aces over Wayne Rooney's United exit after playing their cards just right:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/wayne-rooneys-manchester-united-future-2058338
If I'm being completely honest - and I can't guarantee I won't be off to the loo to wash my mouth out with soap the second I hit 'Post' on this comment... - but I'm beginning to warm to the prospect of Shrek signing...
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/wayne-rooneys-manchester-united-future-2058338
For Chelsea and Jose Mourinho, it has been a case of waiting for the pieces to fall into place, biding their time, preparing to take the next step.
But now they know Wayne Rooney is within their grasp.
It is time to strike.
And strike, surely, the west Londoners will; ready to make the move that could fundamentally tilt the title race this summer."

Chelsea confirm formal bid to Manchester United for Wayne Rooney:

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/8827852/Transfer-news-Chelsea-have-lodged-a-bid-for-Man-United-s-Wayne-Rooney
Their statement read: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that yesterday it made a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of Wayne Rooney.
Although the terms of the offer are confidential, for avoidance of doubt and contrary to what is currently being briefed to the press in Sydney, the proposed purchase price does not include the transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United."

Actually, it would have just made them look more stupid than anything....As if they'd ever turn down Mata + £10m

it was more just to piss off your lot for bidding on Rooney when we said he's not for sale, so we get your players name thrown around in the papers now.
especially with the £20 million low ball actual bid that is being reported, its basically a middle finger from United

No one with a even a quarter of a brain would ever believe United would turn down Mata + ANY amount for Rooney. Failed attempt at cleverness.

Rooney would be a Chelsea player atm if that was the offer. United aren't going to reject Mata. People aren't stupid enough to believe just anything anymore.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread - II
Looks like ManU are n't signing any quality player this summer, but lose one :)For all the talk of unlimited transfer funds - Moyes it seems has only around 40-50 Million to spend in this window.
I don't care if Rooney is a hit/flop for Chelsea, but he will at least not play for ManU next season and that in itself is a good thing for Chelsea . All the morons who think Rooney is not need at ManU don't understand his significance given how fragile Van Persie is(injury prone). If he wasn't needed Alex would have sold him long back. For long campaigns in CL & EPL you need quality, no matter how inconsistent they are.
