Re: Joe Kinnear appointed Newcastle United Director of Football
As much as I dislike Newcastle and want to revel in their misfortune I originally thought allot of the fans and magedia were being a bit harsh on the bloke and thought he deserved a chance.
But that interview really was cringe worthy and quite embarrassing.
He would of been better keeping quiet.
Saying that though allot of Ashleys actions have been questioned and then went on to do well. Knowing how jammy they are they will probs qualify for the CL next season.

Re: Joe Kinnear appointed Newcastle United Director of Football
Most of the things there are what Sunderland fans constantly bring up as Newcastle stereotypes. ( none of which are true)
As soon as he mentioned 1992 i knew it was a Sunderland fan as they always bring up 1992 as when we supposedly knicked all their support
No Newcastle fans ever called our players unknown French internationals ( in fact i have only ever seen Sunderland fans say that)
Same goes for everything else on that list, its quite sad that you care that much tbh.

good gawd. The sad thing is that the squad has great potential... but everyone's going to look to leave as a result of this nonsense.

Re: Joe Kinnear appointed Newcastle United Director of Football
Right so this twat has forced our MD to resign and cancelled a seemingly done deal for Douglas from Twente.
On top of all that Graham Carr isn't happy and is seemingly leaving....

This is a living nightmare and if one of the 3 promoted clubs actually stay up we are going down.

Re: Joe Kinnear appointed Newcastle United Director of Football
For some odd reason, I feel Newcastle may end up having a good season and my boy Mole would probably give Joe too much praise. Then Newcastle would get relegated the following season and Mole would refer to this same thread and take back every praise he ever given Joe.

Considering he can't even pronounce simple names i doubt that very much.
Also this isn't just any old random appointment, this football club has a history with Joe Kinnear and its a very tainted and poisonous history.

Joe Kinnear: 'I'm head and shoulders above every other director of football'
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jul/02/joe-kinnear-director-of-football
Joe Kinnear insists he is "head and shoulders" above every other director of football in the Premier League because of his experience.
The 66-year-old's appointment was greeted by a less than favourable response on Tyneside, but having started work in earnest at St James' Park on Monday, he believes he is more than qualified for the job.
He told the Shields Gazette: "Every top club in the land has got one [a director of football]. We haven't – that's the difference.
"The manager can't do everything. I'm probably the only football manager to be a director of football. I don't know any other ex-managers who have.
"I've been a manager for 35 years. I've been manager of the year. I've won every award there is in football as a player. I think all those qualities put me head and shoulders above every other director of football."
Newcastle have tried the director of football system before with Dennis Wise, whose title was executive director (football), working above the then manager Kevin Keegan. It was a move which backfired spectacularly with Keegan eventually walking out and successfully fighting a claim for constructive dismissal.
However, Kinnear is convinced he can form a working partnership with the manager Alan Pardew and chief scout Graham Carr as the club set about the task of improving the squad for next season.
He said: "Some directors of football have never played the game. I'm lending my experience as a manager for all those years – 10 years at Wimbledon, two years at Nottingham Forest, two years winning promotion at Luton and, of course, almost two years at Newcastle. I would still be there had it [a heart attack] not occurred."
Kinnear was actually in charge at St James' for a little more than six months before his health problems struck.
His first act could be to sanction the departure of the utility man James Perch, who is currently the subject of a bid from relegated Wigan.
Perch, 27, has emerged as something of a cult figure on Tyneside after a difficult start to his career in a black and white shirt.
However, despite the fact that he provides cover across the back four and in a defensive midfield role, it appears that the Magpies could be ready to offload him as they review the current squad.
