US version of Being Human is awesome. I have the UK version in the Netflix queue...no idea when I'll get around to it though.
As for Almost Human....Dom

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
So what sort of things make you like a show?
For me:
Cliffhangers
Normal everyday settings/people, it makes it easier to relate to them.
Suspense/Thriller
Action
Crime
Simplistic yet riveting storyline
No confusing scenes/plot holes
Fast paced
Ideally around 45 mins per episode
One main protagonist.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
Quality of story, dialogue, science fiction, character development.
I like thought provoking shows as well. As far as comedies, I enjoy when there is a nice blend of humor/drama (Scrubs was great with this).

I like great characters, that I also can relate to, that is big part of a show. The reason I didn't really follow the Breaking Bad hype, is that I didn't really like or feel for any of the characters.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
Dialogue is soooooo huge for me. And great characters. If I don't really really like at least one character than I just can't get into a show. Also obviously good acting. I can't stand bad acting, ruins the whole experience.
After all that then there's quality of the story. I can literally watch any genre, any era, any setting, as long as above criteria are all met.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
How many episodes of Breaking Bad did you watch?
I'm a bit confused about your answer. Are you saying that you need to relate to most of the characters and you want to be able to empathize with them?

I have watched all of it, only character I actually liked was Hank. All other characters were annoying and pissed me off. Story was great, but the characters were awful at times.ranDOM 10 wrote:How many episodes of Breaking Bad did you watch?

I still don't get why show was rated so highly. It looked great stylistically, but other than that.

What season are you in? The story, acting, dialogue, drama, suspense, character development, music are all out of the world. For me, it the greatest TV show I ever watched. Give it another try. Things get ridiculously good in Season 3.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
What I liked about BB was the constant suspense and cliffhangers. You just wanted to see what would happen next. The story was very easy to understand too. There weren't any confusing scenes, it had simple dialogue and it just focused on one storyline. The cliffhangers every episode made you want to watch the next episode.
All the villains had something special about them and they were intimidating. Tuco, Gus, the twins, Hector, Krazy-8 and Emilio etc.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
As stated, I have watched all of it, and unlike most people, I just don't care that much for the show. Not even in my top 20 favourite showsM99 wrote:Freeza wrote:I have watched all of it, only character I actually liked was Hank. All other characters were annoying and pissed me off. It's not about what Shows are better mate. It's about What 'YOU' like.
The Shows I like won't be the ones you like as well and vice versa
