Re: Carlo Ancelotti
I am pretty sure we will win the treble this year.
But how much praise does Ancelotti deserve? He certainly faced a weaker Barca than Mourinho, so that accounts for the copa del ray and la liga (i know he also faced the threat from Atletico but it is not like they are better than us). One could also say that pep came into the CL semifinals with wrong tactics and we were also blessed with an early goal off a set play as opposed to Ancelotti being a genius who thwarted the mighty Bayern. Bayern only beat Arsenal and Manchester United before us, neither being a good team.

Re: Carlo Ancelotti
@ raulmadrid4vr, carlo deserves all the praise he gets....not to discredit mou or any of our previous managers, but sometimes the tendency to over analyze success just undervalues the said success and nothing else....this in over 20 years that we have won two titles in a year, moreso especially the fact that we were not going against one domestic rival as has been the case since like 2009, but it was a 3 way race.....there are so many "ifs" and "buts", but you can say that for any team that wins....what matters is he took us not only to decima but two titles a feat which i havent seen us achieve (super cups and int'l cups don't count....if i had my way i'd scrap such match ups; just a waste of player's time and energy)

Re: Carlo Ancelotti
Zidane had an impressive track record in the big games.
Lets see if Carlo can match that. I distinctly remember us having terrible h2h against our rivals under his tutelage
One thing that i really liked about Zidane is that he very very rarely lost the big games

Return of Carlo could be the return of a number 10.

Re: Carlo Ancelotti
Mixed feelings, some optimism due to his past tenure but then you look at his track record since then and it's...
Anyway it'll be interesting to see what formation he will use, would be fun if he brings back the good old 4-4-2.

Re: Carlo Ancelotti
I am most pleased with the return of Don Carlo. The alternatives were absolutely dire. Conte or Pochettino as RM coach... A hideous thought. And hopefully it will remain such. Neither are good enough for this club or belong at this level.
What we need is patience. I fully trust Carlo, he knows what he needs to do.
Hopefully the upper brass won't make the same mistakes as last time around and also not treat him the way they treated Zidane.

Re: Carlo Ancelotti
A job well done for Don Carlo. First to win league titles in the top 5 European leagues suits him. Though I will admit Carlo isn't known for league titles.
A successful season this has been! And we're still in it for one more title. Hopefully the players and the bernabeu step it up a notch to show the world to never put real madrid as the underdog. Real madrid been shown some disrespect recent weeks and I feel it's high time we show these fools what's good and what ain't.

Re: Carlo Ancelotti
I will gladly take my L because I didn't think he was capable of winning the CL this year.
By the way, is there another manager with 4 CLs to their name? I can't think of any and I don't think there is.

Re: Carlo Ancelotti
I too was saying he needed to make the changes, but the calm under pressure that Modric and Kroos is the reason he delayed and when he did no Rodrygo instead preferring extra midfielders in Camavinga and Ceballos. I think Carlo and his tactics is grossly underrated
